Affordable soft leggings to wear under short dresses

Leggings to wear under short dresses?

I’d like some that feel soft and natural (like bamboo or cotton rather than Lycra) and don’t look shiny. As they’re for under dresses rather than wearing alone, they don’t really have to be super thick, but definitely thicker than tights. I know of several lovely brands who make fantastic leggings but I don’t want to pay a lot for them. Any suggestions please?

I bought cotton knee length ones from curve wow in the sale for £5 a pair and I have several black pairs from new look that were £7-£8. They’ve all washed really well.
I’ve got black, brown and khaki. You need at least a size bigger to be comfy I find. I’m an 18-20 and buy size 24 so they are loose and get airflow.

I bought some from Morrisons & am amazed by them. They’re not see through at all. They far exceed any that I have had before. They’re also not shiny!

Where were the brown ones from?

And has anyone seen any other colours? All mine are black.

I agree, the Morrisons ones are really good, and wash/dry well too!

Brown ones were from next but they’re not 100% cotton, they’re a viscose mix. On the knee because I size up and wear them as loose shorts.

do the dresses not stick to your legs in leggings? or do you wear an underskirt with them?

No, I usually find tights more staticky and wear a slip with those at times.

Thanks for the tips here, Morrisons looking like a reasonable shout!

I love the M&S heatgen thermal ones, both the thinner ones and the fleecy ones.

I got some from Next, very cheap, under £10. However I'm probably looking for some more so will look in Morrisons, never thought of looking for clothes there, which is odd because I've bought loads of things from Sainsburys and Asda.
