Autumn trousers when you have a pot belly = shopping hell

I am a despair point now in trying to get autumn trousers- ideally smart enough for work - think trousers and blouse- and not black. I'd like a beige tweed but not wool ideally.

I'm not thin though, 14/16 and have csections pot /apron belly that peri has made worse. My body is a really bad shape for trousers as I've got relatively narrow hips too. I love summer as i live in shirred waist skirts.

Tried m&s today but i think my body is not right for them - the trousers all seem really short in the rise and wrap my tummy making it look awful. I think maybe a pleat might work but even though I'm 5'6 I look dumpy as a wide leg is too wide often.

Has anyone had any recent success with something I could go out and buy like today? I did buy these jeans today and they fit well which was a real victory New look jeans

I’m the same shape. I also hate buying trousers and agree about M&S. Sorry, no help, just stmpathy.
