Very Warm everyday trousers for winter that still look stylish?

I’m looking for stylish but warm trousers for every day?

I usually wear jeans most days, but in winter they aren’t warm enough. I already wear thermal vests and knee high thermal socks, I don’t want to wear thermal tights underneath as I have done in the past as it’s just too many layers. I really feel the cold and need something better on my legs!

I’m thinking there must be comfy wool trousers or trousers with brushed cotton lining, that kind of thing?

its barely October, it’s 15 degrees this morning and I’m already freezing! Sadly turning the heating on is not an option :)

Oh no, is it as I feared… they don’t exist?!

Well, my suggestion was going to be a pair of thermal tights underneath....

Roman do fleece lined jeans - but they are ankle length which i suspect won't work for you. Might be worth a look to see if anyone else does similar.

Thank you - I just find the tights so uncommon my waist and kind of restrictive feeling!

I’ll keep googling :)

For work I have some thick M&S trousers that seem to do the job.

I also love their fleece lined tights - I buy them in a large size so they’re not too tight on me.

Thermal leggings underneath, buy a size bigger than your normal for waist comfort. Pretend you're hiking in the Arctic. Layers, layers.... 😊

Other than that excellent suggestion, I can only think of thermal lined trousers but they are for hiking.

Someone will have a better suggestion soon...

Heattech Uniqlo trousers.

Miracle on two legs.

Thermal but don’t look it.

They also have beautifully designed thermal tops that weigh nothing and look good as normal tops.

I know you don’t want to do tights, but for real warmth it really is about layering. A really thick fleece jumper is nice and cosy but not so much on its own, a tshirt underneath makes it so much warmer and it’s the same with trousers but for some reason we don’t layer on our bottom halves the way we do on top

M&S have some lovely corduroy in at the moment!

I have a pair of Ayacucho Glen walking trousers that are stretchy and fleece lined but not heavy weight. They are so comfortable and warm. I could wear them all winter. Sizing is quite generous to get a snug fit.

I've more or less given up on warm and stylish without tights underneath.

It might be worth trying Decathlon's winter golf trousers. The summer ones are excellent and the only reason I've not tried the winter version is that I'm quite strict about not buying synthetics unless it's technical sportswear.

Thank you - I’m the same on synthetics. Avoid as much as possible.

I have an acrylic mix jumper that is about 5% wool - and it looks like wool - but is in fact freezing to wear!

I’m turning to merino wool layers underneath now. I wore knee high merino ski socks this morning, and it feels so comforting :)

I had some lined wool uniqlo trousers a few years ago, they were both smart and warm. And comfortable as they were elasticated waist ones! I think uniqlo do some lined trousers every winter so worth checking what they have this year.

You can get fleece lined jeans in Amazon. My DH wears them in the winter. I haven't tried the women's version but they do have tyem

Have you looked for lined winter walking trousers. Mine are lovely and look just like normal black trousers. Mountain warehouse stock them and they are reasonably priced
I have also got some merino wool skiing long johns and they go under ordinary jeans really well.

I come from a cold country (much colder than the UK) and the best strategy for keeping your legs warm - if you don’t want to wear thermals under your trousers - is to wear a long coat that covers most of your legs.
