Weaning myself off my crossbody!

Hear me out, I have the uniqlo bags and wear them daily for the school run but I feel like they look really unflattering on me. I want to look more stylish but my bags just end up rolling off my shoulders! Any thoughts? What bags do you carry for the school run, which look stylish

The Uniqlo cross body has trapped you for life and are better off accepting this. Or just use a tote bag for the school run. I like my trader joes (but I use it with the Uniqlo)

I got a leather version of the Uniqlo cross body which I feel looks a bit more stylish? Soft slouchy leather.
it wasn’t from Uniqlo, but otherwise same shape/style etc. a couple of years ago now so can’t link.

Otherwise I use backpacks, also leather ones as opposed to hiking style. Like you I never last long with shoulder bags, no matter how nice they look, they’re just a pain.

I think cross body bags are the best, they look great and are functional.

I have the same issue: over the years I have invested in some amazing shoulder bags and yet I always go back to one of my crossbody bags. I want to make more effort and start using my beautiful shoulder bags more again.

The leather COS cross body. I have it permanently with the bag part on my bag so only the strap is showing. Bought in 2023 and looking more beautiful with age.

The top where the zip is, is sort of flat so sits really nicely against your back. I've walked around NYC and london with the bag part on my back, the zip sort of folds in so no worries about pickpockets.

I can't bear a shoulder bag or a crossbody swinging against my hip.

I have a small leather rucksack. I've no idea if it's stylish but it's comfortable and doesn't interfere with outfits the way a cross body bag does.

Keep the crossbody! I hate shoulder bags.

I think if you have small shoulders (I do too) there’s not much you can do to make a bag stay put. I’m crossbody for life, even though the strap bisects my breasts in a rather startling fashion. My current bag came with short straps and I bought a long strap to clip on to convert it, you could try that? Wish I had coat-hanger shoulders, they make everything look better.
