What assumptions might you make about a man wearing rings on every finger?

I'm actually asking for a writing characterisation rather than style and beauty but thought might be a good place to ask here.

In the same way that if you saw a man in a smart pin striped suit with a starched collar and polished shoes, you might assume he was probably very conventional, maybe from a public school background, a bit buttoned up and probably did a professional job, what kind of assumptions would you make about a man who wore an array of chunky silver rings on every finger?

This type of thing but no particular designs, and no tattoos.

Sort of an array of chunky differing rings on every finger. mostly silver and black. slightly gothic but not all of them.

Anything would be helpful whether character, personal style, industry, job?

Nothing, same as with a woman. That they make very different style choices from me, but that's not an issue.

Depends on the man. They could be an effeminate twink or they could be trying to break cheekbones with the metal. Or they could be an eccentric traveller or an Old Boy in his 20s who hadn’t figured out that the signet rings aren’t cool.

It depends. How old is he? Does he have long hair and beard? Is he from Northampton?

Based on the one guy I’ve met who did this, a bit of a nob would cover it. Metaller/ slightly alternative. But a nob.

Either a David Dickinsonesque antique dealer or someone in a rock band - depends what they're wearing.

A bit grubby, scruffy. That he thinks he's cool and God's gift to women, but nobody else thinks that. Probably a musician or an artist.

I’d assume he was a bit strange and didn’t have a decent job. Probably a bit rough.

Live & let live but I would not be attracted to his “style.”

It looks tasteless to me. Even worse if he bites his nails.

Does he take them off when he does the washing up?

That he's a second hand car salesman from the 80s! Not an attractive look, IMO.

It depends on the quality of the rings and whether they were gold or silver. Good quality gold rings with stones would make me think of someone whose finances went through big highs and big lows. Silver would lean seedy rock/arty type and less gangster.

If he was all in black I’d think ‘80s rocker. The vest and pinstripe shirt in the image make me think he’s a civil servant by day who goes by himself to sex club parties three nights a year. He doesn’t get laid but he likes watching. Thinks he’s Charlie Sheen but is more Mr Sheen.

Generally the guys I know who do that are fairly gothy
