Fawn or Navy for trench coat

I need a new trench (my old one was black) I’m really undecided about fawn or navy. Ideally I’d like something more colourful but can’t find anything I like. I’ve pretty much decided on the style - Hobbs Vivienne. They’ve got 20% off at the moment so I want to order. But do suggest other brands. No belts as I have a large bust and short waist and they are supremely unflattering (in fact I turned down a free vintage Burberry for this reason recently)

Clothes-wise I used to wear almost exclusively black trousers/jeans etc but have bought quite a bit of navy recently. Fawn will go with both black & navy but I’m worried about it showing the dirt.

I’d go for navy, because fawn would be filthy within seconds of me putting it on!!

I’ve gone for camel coloured because I tend to wear it in spring/summer with lighter clothes. But my wool coat is navy which I love.

I have both and have worn the navy much more. The fawn is nice, but gets grubby easily and so many of my colleagues wear them we end up looking like the Columbo fan club. So bear that in mind…

I saw a woman in an olive green one yesterday and thought she looked very stylish

Which colour looks better on you?

Greige Fawn makes me look like death warmed up, plus it would look grubby very quickly, so I would go for navy.

I think it depends on your complexion and hair colour. Navy would be a default unless you are blonde or a redhead I suggest.

Would it give you more colour choice if you looked at belted trenches with a view to wearing the belt knotted or buckled at the back? I have two trenches - a fawn and a light grey and I've never worn either of them belted at the front.

I like the dark khaki to olive shades, too.

Mine is navy
Better than black on me .
Beige has the risk of getting dirty too quickly
And I'd look like Jackson Lamb Blush

I committed to the navy!

Went to Hobbs Covent Garden got seriously shonky service - staff apparently not knowing what a Mac (clarified to a Macintosh or trench coat) was even when I gave them style name.

Told me that there were none of the second size I wanted to try in stock (their stock finder had said both were) and then I found the missing size on a duplicate display:

Then I got followed around as I looked at everything else. I actually thought I looked like a stereotypical Hobbs shopper today (wide legged linen trousers, Breton, mainstream handbag)

hey ho.

Fawn. More options.

I'd go Navy as fawn would look grubby too quickly. My Mum had a camel one and she was forever at the dry cleaners with it.

I'm pale & strawberry blonde, & beige/fawn shades are draining & horrible on me. Navy is vastly better, whereas brunettes are fine with beige IMO. Perhaps beige would be ok on someone with very intense red/auburn hair, but it's definitely not for me.
