Best socks for lady with legs and feet prone to swelling

My mum can’t wear regular socks as they cause significant swelling in her feet and dents where the top has been. She’s tried the soft top type and these weren’t much good. She’s best with knee high ones so that they don’t tourniquet her ankles.
She’s not been able to wear any socks all summer due to how much her feet and ankles swell but now that autumn is here she needs something that will cause the least amount of swelling.
Any suggestions please?

Compression stockings if she hasn't got any heart problems. She'd need to be referred by her GP to a specialist.

I wear these kind of compression socks, which are very comfortable and actually deal with the swelling, rather than soft top socks which don’t dig in but still leave legs swollen and painful.

There are lots of different styles in similar brands including plain black and skin colours. I find they really help with the swelling.

Make sure she has seen her doctor about it though. Mine is caused by varicose veins, and I just prefer these type of socks to the nasty NHS ones, but it could be indicative of a heart problem so best to check.

You could try diabetic socks.

Need to be sure no arterial blood flow issues!

Hence needing to see a specialist first 🙂

What was wrong with the soft grip - there are a few brands to try. What is she wearing them with and how mobile is she. If she isn’t very active some slightly thicker slouch sock. These look good.
