Ideas for a 80s themed party outfit

I need an outfit for an 80s themed party - evening do, so don't want to go down the shell suit idea. But equally, I don't want it to be too 'costumey' (as I'd feel a right prat) - does anyone have any ideas that would work for 80s but equally looks / feels like 'normal' clothes rather than a costume? Thanks

Ra—ra skirt? Something neon?
I just wore jeans in the 80's (skintight!)
Blue eyeshadow, blue mascara and farrah fawsett hair would work. And that pink lipstick we used to buy in miss selfridge (iron lady)

Jeans with a choose life or Frankie says relax t shirt. If you have longer hair plait wet so it looks crimpt. Large bow lots of bangles. Bright eyeshadow. Big earrings. Fingerless gloves,

You could go as a person, such as Cyndi Lauper/madonna etc or a generic, 80's person.

-Big shoulder pads and a power suit. You might something on vinted, charity shops or a relatives wardrobe. Large earrings, big hair and a fake, brick phone. You could make a 'phone' from a tissue box, wrap in black paper, print out a key pad etc and add an antenna.

Slouchy boots; high waisted shorts/ tapered jeans/ denim skirt & fishnets; dramatic top with shoulder pads/ ruffles/ fringing/ all 3!
