What do you wear when you don’t like jeans?

I’ve recently lost a fuck tonne of weight and I am replenishing my wardrobe.

Currently living in M&S slim fit crew neck long sleeved tops and loose trousers. I don’t like restrictive clothing.

I like Free People style, (although prefer via Vinted due to both quality and cost.)

I am a size 8/10, don't work in an office so don’t need to look presentable, and prefer things to be durable but also quirky!

Help!

I stopped wearing jeans in lockdown and now can’t bear the heaviness or restriction from them. So basically, anything with an elastic waist. loose flowy trousers in summer. In winter tunics and long line jumpers with leggings and boots, or halara stretchy trousers. Not sure if they are quirky though

I don’t specifically dislike jeans, but there are so many more exciting things to wear I generally forget jeans exist. Quirky isn’t really in my vocabulary but I like spending money on clothes, care about craft and design and fashion and can dress to please myself - so I do.

As to what I wear, it’s everything else. I love a good, well constructed skirt, or a severely simple dress, or wool flannel trousers. But I’m happy to be guided by the designers who supply the online shops I frequent.

If you like Free People, have you ever looked at Plümo? You may find pieces on pre-owned sites, too.

I didn't own any jeans for the entire 10+ years of skinnies. I wore trousers, skirts - and leggings, since the usual leg profile was skin-tight anyway.

I wouldn't recommend the leggings option for general out of the house wear at present, but there's obviously a whole universe of other leg coverings to choose from! I'm going through a big skirt phase. There are billions of soft, stretchy trousers out there.

Have fun!

I do wear jeans but also bought some lovely balloon trousers from mint velvet this year, they can be dangerous on stairs but I do love them regardless! Very loose and flowy and look nice with a vest in warmer weather and also with a more fitted jumper when it’s cooler.
i have a lot of wide leg trousers but they aren’t great for me in the cold because they let too much cold air in so tend to wear them with thermals or tights underneath.

Clever me! 😄

Unqlo barrel legged jersey trousers are very popular/ viral at the moment. They're also available as cords.
If you like Free People bits can often be bought new on e bay. I like khakis at this time of year and Zara have a good pair.
