Black tie alternatives to dresses for a stylish November birthday bash

I’ve got a black tie birthday bash coming up in early November.
I want to look really fabulous as my friend has had a tough year and this is a big do for her. But I don’t really like dresses and skirts- what’s an alternative to still look like I’ve hundred percent made the effort and respect the dress code?
I also hate polyester..
anything stylish and beautiful you lovelies can recommend?

Should say - I’m 5’3, size 10-12 - tummy, boobs, wobbly arms etc

If you hate polyester because of a dislike of synthetics generally (environment/microplastics/smell/feel etc), NRBY is worth looking at. They do lots of silk, silk velvet etc. They don't do a petite range &, from the one dress I have from them, they cut for the taller woman. But still worth a look.

This silk shirt & trousers, for example, is effectively a jumpsuit.

Thank you... I'm quite short, so I probably do need petite. I hate the feel of polyester and I don't really like the idea of washing plastic into the ocean. But other than that I'm not too fussy

With a top & trousers it should just mean that the top is a bit longer & the trousers can be taken up - as they're not fitted items it's an easier adjustment.

You've not mentioned a budget?
