Black tie alternatives to dresses for a stylish November birthday bash

I’ve got a black tie birthday bash coming up in early November.
I want to look really fabulous as my friend has had a tough year and this is a big do for her. But I don’t really like dresses and skirts- what’s an alternative to still look like I’ve hundred percent made the effort and respect the dress code?
I also hate polyester..
anything stylish and beautiful you lovelies can recommend?
