Shampoo recommendations for sporty 11-year-old boy with thick hair

Shampoo recommendations for 11 year old DS with thick hair who plays sports (also in hard water area). Thanks.

I don't give my DC anything too fancy - I think they currently have Aveeno daily shampoo with oat milk which is fine for daily use and not stinging in the eyes.

However I did have to give the thick haired one a lesson in exactly how to wash his hair, for some reason I thought it would have been obvious after years of me washing his hair for him when he was little. I got him to put on swim trunks and talked him through step by step:
how much shampoo to use (not a whole handful)
lather up on hands first (don't just dollop)
scrub all over head (and not just on sides)
scrub scalp with fingertips (not just ruffling the top layer of his hair with his palms)
proper rinse with the showerhead held close to head, as otherwise thick hair will hold onto the soap and not rinse out after just a quick spray
