I’m looking for suggestions of dresses for a friend’s funeral please. She passed away unexpectedly and her funeral is sadly in 2 weeks time. I have Lipoedema and I can’t wear trousers as they never fit properly due to this.
I’m a size 22-24 and I am unsure what dress to wear.

My condolences on your loss.
My sympathy on your disease. I have it too.
Scarlett & Jo do great dresses for the pear shape. I have lipoedema in my ankles so favour a maxi dress but you could look at their midi dresses too.
Live Unlimited also do some.
For funerals I wear a pair of soft black wide leg trousers from Lands End and a Zoe dark grey flared tunic top from One Six.

Sorry for your loss. ASOS have quite a few curve black dresses. I like this one.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I’ve ordered one from Roman and 2 from Scarlett & Jo as the shapes are more what suit me. X

Thank you. Yes, it’s a terrible condition. Mine has got out of control since I hit perimenopause and I’ve got from a 16-18 to 22-24 very quickly. I don’t think the hot weather has helped! I have a stoma so trousers never sit right on me with the bag and the fatty thighs!

I've also got a funeral in 2 weeks but already own a suitable dress. If not I'd certainly consider this

Apologies OP, this is off the subject - but have you started HRT? Apparently it can help with lipoedema because the drop in oestrogen is why it often gets worse in perimenopause.

I've also just started back on keto because there's evidence it helps with lipoedema inflammation.

Just thought I'd mention it in case it helps. Lipoedema is a fucker.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend 💐

Unfortunately, I’ve seen 3 doctors (2 different practices as I was unhappy with the first one for other reasons), and none will prescribe HRT as I have high BP and take medication for it. I can’t follow a keto diet either as I’m new to having a stoma fitted due to crohns and my diet is basically carb heavy as I can’t tolerate several food groups at the moment

Sorry for your loss OP. Sounds like you’ve a lot going on health wise too. Just thought I’d mention the weather is still looking very summery. Depends where you are of course but I think we’ll still be in summer clothes in 2 weeks.

OP I'm sorry for your loss. I always get my funeral dresses off eBay so I can donate them afterwards to the charity shops.
Worth a try if you don't find anything new .

Just a thought I have RA and have the new filgotinib. They use it for Crohns. Twelve week blast I believe. Please look it up as it's changed my life. I had huge digestive issues after a ovarian tumor removal now solved. Ask your consultant.

I'm so sorry, it sounds like you're having an awful time.

I find Yours do decent dresses. I got one there for my Mums funeral.

On the HRT.....I have blood pressure and have HRT patches. GP said transdermal safer.
