Hmmm. Quinta Brunson chose this Christian Cowan dress for the Emmy's. Thoughts?

What are your thoughts, OP?

Was there supposed to be a photo @fridgefullofplums?

tinaabbot · 15/09/2026 13:26

It’s a bit zombie bride Halloween costume ish….. Like the Golden Goose trainers, I don’t get the point of making something look old and wrecked.
Is there some sort of message behind it?

fridgefullofplums · 16/09/2026 13:41

Sorry, was waiting for Mumsnet to approve the image. Let me try again.

It’s just a fairly basic standard dress, odd thread.

MellowSubmarine · 16/09/2026 13:46

Not really my preference, with the fraying edges etc.

Also I think the flesh coloured mesh bit at the top did weird things to her breasts. They looked a bit squished.

newrubylane · 16/09/2026 13:48

I quite like it, particularly the frayed hem. The distressed look hasn't been in fashion for a while, broadly speaking, so I think this feels quite fresh from a fashion perspective.

Oh give over - it's far from a fairly basic standard dress. Most red carpet dresses aren't fraying at the edges!

Clearly I mean for the red carpet, not a trip down Tesco,

Perfidia · 16/09/2026 14:06

I like fraying. I don’t like satin but realise it’s what most people wear for evenings. It fits her well.

But the mesh bodice was a huge mistake and her dresser needs firing.

Still waiting to hear your opinion, @fridgefullofplums …

Fartughtyred · 16/09/2026 14:09

No I think it looks cheap and as if she got into a fight on the way! Not very flattering either.

Flintgranet · 16/09/2026 14:15

That dress makes her chest look uncanny, so I'd say it doesn't work .

She's a stunner, the dress is fun and I like the frayed zombie-vibe. But she and the dress were not a great combo.

Oh God I thought she had a rash!

I don’t like it. Looks like something that was stored in the attic and the rats got hold of it.

DisforDarkChocolate · 16/09/2026 15:57

Liked it in theory, I practice her breasts looked uncomfortably squashed

fridgefullofplums · 17/09/2026 13:31

I am generally in favour of everyone wearing whatever they want...but I can't my head around this dress. With all the options available to you, why would you want to look like you had been mugged on the way to the ceremony? I genuinely don't get it. The whole style of the dress - ripped/frayed/snagged/pulled through a hedge backwards - why??! I agree she is a very lovely lady, and this is certainly a talking point so maybe that's it? But I just think she's pretty enough already not to need THIS.🤔

Ripped and frayed are perfectly legitimate and established style choices! 😂

didgeridid · 17/09/2026 13:41

It looks like the washing machine tried to eat it 😅🙈
