Where can I find knee high boots to fit wider calves?

Ladies of Mumsnet please help me. I worked really hard and lost over 30kg, I am now a healthy weight, a size 12 and yet I cannot find knee high boots that fit me. My husband thinks I have body dismorphia as I still see myself as fat but trying on boots that won't do up over my calves has not helped. I do exercise a lot and have muscles but honestly I don't feel my calves are that big. Where can I find nice, knee high boots that will fit and not make me feel like a fatty? My feet are size 6 so not massive. Any advice appreciated.

Well done on regaining a healthy weight! Have a look at Duo Boots, they do wider leg fittings and are really good quality. I’ve got.what might be called “strong” calves (decades of horse riding) and I’ve found their boots to fit really well.

I’m the same, despite being a 12 now - have always had ‘walker’s calves’.🙄😆 Got some nice black suede knee high boots from M&S last year, and they had others that fit me too - and my calves really are still very large - so worth trying some on there.

Fairfax and Favor do a sporting fit that might work. Depends on your budget.

Duo boots?

GreenFootstool · 13/09/2026 16:06

Duo boots for the win.

I bought my last three pairs on Vinted for under £40 a pair.

duo boots. I’ve had mine for about 20 years. Duo replaced a zip for me years ago and they’ve been reheeled several times but are still going strong. I think they may need to be resoled this year though.

Following for ideas! I’ve never had calves that fit the majority of boots at any weight. I also have very particular wants when it comes to boots and don’t want to have to settle for some I don’t like just because they fit. I dislike elastic panels or stretch materials. Duo boots don’t deliver to EU anymore so they are out!

Another Duo boots fan, lots of pairs all bought years ago.
Last year I bought a pair of black wedge boots from Next and also a pair from TK Maxx that were Heavenly feet- those weren’t marketed as wide calf but fitted well.

Yup Duo Boots are great. Just bought a replacement pair yesterday as my last pair were conking out after 13 years!

Fairfax and Favour do sporting fit for wider calves

There’s a tiktoker doing a series on this, trying various pairs of high street boots on to see if they fit her wider calves. Next time I see one of her videos I’ll come back and post her handle.

No idea but I’m not in the UK!

Don’t worry I’m like this too, I’m a size 14 now but have always struggled with knee high boots even when I was an 8!
I blame my rugby player Dad.
Try Geox boots they have some styles with elastic panels down the sides
