Tubing mascara that DOES NOT FLAKE OR SMUDGE - is this impossible ask?!?!

Hi all,

I am blessed with very long eyelashes, but I also have oily skin. Practically every mascara - tubing or otherwise - smudges or flakes under my eyes by about 1pm. Please, where can I get a ROCK SOLID NON FLAKE mascara!!!!! I have tried the ELF tubing mascara, maybelline (can’t recall the name, bulbous tube) and many others besides.

I have the same issue. Putting on eye-shadow etc is a pointless exercise for me as it all disappears!

I don’t tend to use it that much as thankfully I have darkish brows and lashes.

I occasionally use a Clinique mascara, which seems ok?

They honestly won't smudge. I had exactly the same issue when younger, tubing mascaras were revelatory.

What was wrong with Elf? That’s what I use and have sweated, cried, sneezed and slept in it and it’s never shifted without hot water and purposeful removal. It’s magic stuff, I always have spares as I fear it’ll go out of stock.

Sorry, I see you've tried Elf. Are you sure it was the tubing one?
Try the others I mentioned.

Yes, the No.7 one doesn't shift at all. It's called Stay Perfect. Most of the poor reviews on the Boots website are by people who either don't know how to remove tubing mascara, or think their eyelashes are falling out when the 'tubes' come off.

Clinique lash power is suberb. The only other mascara I had that didn’t budge was the waterproof eyeko one but it’s been discontinued 😭 not tubing but amazing

Hi all thank you for these recommendations - I’m afraid to say that I tried the ELF tubing mascara and it really didn’t work for me!!! Will definitely try the no.7

UKLash tubing mascara from Look fantastic is brilliant! Doesn’t move or flake all day (I have hooded eyes so mascara has always been a nightmare)! Comes off with warm water x

Also have oily skin, I stick to waterproof mascaras, plus I start with Elf pore less putty primer on my eyelids and a little underneath the eye followed by a brush of powder before eye makeup. Works well to keep everything in place.

Another vote for Beauty Pie Wrap Star tubing mascara - it’s the only that works for me

Maybelline Sky High stays put then is easily removed with warm water and a wash cloth.

I’m another who uses the Elf one on the daily - per pp I always keep a spare in a drawer. I bought a Cult Beauty edit box thing a couple of months ago which had the Hourglass tubing mascara in it and it’s fab, but I assume much more ££

I have hooded eyelids and oily skin. I have had great success with Mac Stack Elevated. It’s not a tubing mascara but it doesn’t smudge.
I have never had success with tubing mascara. It’s as if my oil sees them as a challenge and little bits flake off into my eyes throughout the day.

Stay perfect mascara no7. Never comes off when I swim. Only get off with hot water and cleanser.

I've used the no7 one for years and the only way I can get it off is a hot shower or make up remover and lots of hot water on my face and even that doens get it all off. I dont have oily skin though but id say its worth a go.

Do not use the sleek one. Bad bad bad. I thought all tubing ones were great and then I used this one.

Have elf to try as recommendation.

I am the same: oily skin, long eyelashes. EVERYTHIBG smudges, even YSL Faux cils waterproof.

I now use RUM and it works. A mate sweated by Hourglass.

I'm so tempted by those Japanese mascara! Not too pricey either!
