DP got me this duty free once and I read wll the blurb about nasa and seaweed.

TBH I do not really think it is that great. I have heard people rave about it but for me I can;t see what all the fuss is about!

It would probably break me out.

Most stuff gives me huge cystic acne.

MaryAnnSingleton · 29/06/2008 20:08

I think that if you've paid however many £££ Ffor Creme de la mer you have to rate it !! I rate Vaseline hand cream very highly £2 something in Boots ...really good !

Bbbee · 29/06/2008 20:09

it is bollocks isn't it.

have you tried it Bbbee ?

traceybath · 29/06/2008 20:18

I got a free sample pot and it made me spotty. I've got dry skin but its very rich. I wouldn't buy it.

expatinscotland · 29/06/2008 20:24

yikes! i have combination skin, tracey, thanks for the heads up.

definitely not the cream for me!

Bbbee · 29/06/2008 20:47

yes I have tried it and it is nice - but in the saem way that moisturising your face is nice.

I so wish it did what it said it did!

Nivea as good too

cornsilk · 29/06/2008 20:49

I heart atrixo.

ZZMum · 29/06/2008 20:50

I must be a freak, easily bought or just mug with crap skin but I love it and nothing else works as well for me I have driest skin in world and can use it every 2-3 days and skin still feels soft even feels soft after a swim - wish I had the same effect with Atrixo..

MaryAnnSingleton · 29/06/2008 21:05

actually, the nicest stuff for face, imo is Dr Hauschka rose day cream...not too expensive but not cheapo

SheikYerbouti · 29/06/2008 21:07

I think Creme de la Mer is shitty shit as well.

dinny · 29/06/2008 21:09

can you use altrixo on face?

SheikYerbouti · 29/06/2008 21:11

Astral good and ultra cheap

Trick with the richer ones id to used a miniscule amount

micegg · 29/06/2008 21:14

I use sudocrem. Very thinly on my face every night. Has cleared the funny spot things I have always had under my skin . Obviously don't use from the same jar that I use to treat DS nappy rash

SheikYerbouti · 29/06/2008 21:18

Sudocrem is excellent as a night cream.

also ensures I get a good night's sleep, as DP says he won't seduce me when I smell like a baby's arse

micegg · 29/06/2008 21:22

That explains the lack of bedroom action in my house then!

dinny · 30/06/2008 07:50

doesn't Sudocrem sting like mad?

what about blue-jar Nivea? I find that really hard to spread out on face!

cornsilk · 30/06/2008 09:23

I used sudocream as a skint teenager but it made my face go red and blotchy. Atrixo is the best of the cheapies - try it!

beautyscientist · 03/07/2008 20:23

Atrixo has a real cult following, but it isn't that well known. Nivea is a classic. Creme de la Mer I think might be good if you have dry skin. It has a seaweed extract which could be very effective, but like most cosmetics has never had a proper trial carried out on it to test it. The thing to remember with all these creams is that they are good to build up the barrier function of your skin if it isn't very good. If your skin is basically okay then they won't make it any better.

If you are interested in a bit more detail about creme de la mer I have just written a blog post on it colinsbeautypages.co.uk/creme-de-la-mer-review/
