Alternative to Elmis cleansing balm

For a few years I've used Elmis cleansing balm. Unfortunately I can't afford it anymore
I need something cheaper that's good for normal/dry skin.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

The beauty crop cleansing balms are lighter, but really nice.

I’ve got loads of sample pots of this free with stuff, but it always leaves my face feeling funny and unclean. Do you need a flannel to remove it as I’ve just been using my hands.

I liked elemis a lot but my favourite is eve lom, which I also needed to move away from financially - I was nearing retirement and wanted to retire early rather than work longer but have luxury things, so I feel your pain. I went through all of my toiletries and makeup with the intention of moving to cheaper alternatives. My criteria was that the product has to feel and work just as well. I couldn't find suitable alternatives for my shampoo, conditioner, balm moisturiser and foundation, but I found alternatives for everything else including the balm cleanser. I thought it was worth spending money in the short term trying everything in the hopes of spending less in the long run, and now that I'm here I am reaping the benefits of that. So this is my long winded way of saying, it may be that you can find a cheaper alternative, it may be that you stick with this but can cut back somewhere else. Good luck to you OP!

I came on to say this. Ive used hundreds and this is excellent

Second the Habi balm from Boots. Although they’ve changed the formula recently to make it easier to rinse without a cloth, so it’s not as moisturising as it was. Still excellent though!

I have tried a lot of cleansing balms! My favourites are the body shop chammomile, and beauty crop (they do 4 and I like them all). Beauty crop very reasonable price, they have the travel sizes on for about 2 quid at the moment, I get these for travel and have ended up buying full sizes for home. My favourites are the avocado and the Graces Faces.
I tried a Revolution one once and it stung my eyes so badly! It was Revolution + Sally something.
I didn't like the soap and glory one either, a few years ago now so may have changed formula but the one I tried left an oily film on my skin.

CeraVe cleansing balm is great

I really like the Ordinary Oat Cleansing Balm.

I've picked up the Charlie Tate one this morning. Will try that one first.
Because of the price in home bargains I can try them all to see what suits me best.

If none suit I'll get a dearer one until I find the one for me.

The Elf one is really good andn has a nice, but very subtle scent.

The other good one I like is the Pure one from M&S - I buy it on Ocado! It's a very big tub so lasts a long time. The only thing is the scent is quite strong. It's a nice scent, but i find I can't use it every day.

These are the two I use intead of my very expensive but favourite Farmacy Green Clean one.

Superfacialist rose cleansing balm felt so similar and £20. Upcircle balm is also fantastic - very hydrating

Aldi periodically have a dupe when they do beauty events in the middle aisle. It’s very good indeed.

I've picked up the Charlie Tate one this morning
Ive got that and I don't like it much.
I had the Emma Hardie one and it was fabulous but expensive. The Adi dupe is supposed to be a more or less exact copy but I cant get it anywhere. That's how I ended up with the Charlie Tate. I got it from Home bargains ( or B and M I'm not sure i get them mixed up at retail parks!)

The M&S one, Pure, is just like the Elemis one!

I was going suggest this one. Costs about £12, but you can get them on 3 for 2!

Also came from the Elemis one to this. I'd suggest using a washable cotton make-up pad or cloth to apply it (while dry) as it dissolves faster than the Elemis one on contact with skin.

Evolve Gentle Cleansing Melt is the closest I’ve found that leaves that super soft feeling you get after using Elemis. It’s more of a gel/cream texture than a balm but emulsifies with water and is flanneled off in the same way.
I used to get it at John Lewis but I see Holland and Barrett do it now. They used to do travel sizes for about £8 - worth a try perhaps after you’ve used up your Home Bargains version.
My current Elemis balm smells a bit petrol-like, I wonder if it’s gone off? I have another unopened one to use and some travel sizes but they last me ages so I wasn’t sure whether to bin or persevere?

I've tried the Charlie Tate tonight and I'm glad it was only £1.99. it's awful.
I didn't like the texture and it took me 3 attempts to get rid of the sheen.
I only used less than a finger nail of product.
DD says she will try it tomorrow.

I have sensitive skin and for a long time used the Elemis Pro Collagen naked cleansing bar, got sick of the price and switched to the Body Shop Camomile Cleansing butter. It does the same job and my skin is no different and it’s a lot cheaper!

I really like the Weleda Skin Food Cleansing Balm. It’s £9.99 on Amazon and comes in a tube, which I much prefer as it’s so much more convenient to use in the shower, it also comes out easily unlike the Inkey oat cleanser which seems to solidify in colder weather. It has a lovely, fresh citrus fragrance and feels much more expensive than it actually is.
I’m also a longtime fan of Eve Lom, but unfortunately it’s become a little too expensive for me to justify these days, it is simply heavenly though.
