Help me find an outfit for my school reunion please!

I’ve got my school reunion a week on Saturday and I have no idea what to wear. I’ve got young kids (just finished breastfeeding) and don’t feel great about how I look right now. Added to that, I don’t have a clue what’s actually fashionable!

My usual style is either jeans, a T-shirt and leather/suede jacket for weekends or more formal trousers and blouses for work. I’ve got very little in between. And spend 99% of my time in trainers.

I’m 5’3, size 12/14 and self conscious about my waist. I think I suit open/v-necks more than a high neck on account of a slightly large chest.

Can anyone help? Would particularly appreciate specific links! Thank you :)

ETA I’m 40 but don’t feel it so nothing too ‘mature’!

I’d wear some nice wide leg brown trousers or dark blue flared jeans (high waisted) and a nice white shirt or top tucked in at the front with a belt. Have a look at mint velvet website or m&s for ideas x

I’m 40 but … is definitely not fashionable! You are as much 40 as anyone else of your age. Who you are is what 40 is. (You could try ‘I’m 40 and’)

What sort of occasion will it be? Lunch, evening, a party? Is there a dress code?
