Waterproof shoes for rainy commuting days?!

Hi all,

My commute involves a fair bit of walking (about 30 mins each way), so I usually wear trainers and change at work, but the rain has started and I'm sick of wet feet already! I would be grateful for any shoe recommendations people have for commuting in autumn/winter which don't immediately soak through on rainy days. I'm wondering if I should invest in some waterproof trainers, but I need something that is stylish too - even though I change at work I still want to look nice on my commute. Thanks all!

ankle wellies?

Boots? I have a rocket dog pair I've dug out for the school run this afternoon, really comfy and keep my feet dry

Blundstones - they are solid waterproof boots but wear like slippers

Agree with pp some of those ankle wellies that look like Chelsea boots. Lots of brands do them.

I've tried ankle wellies before and found them soooo uncomfortable! Given the amount of walking I need to do I don't think they'd be suitable.

Clark’s have just brought out some gortex trainers in a lovely burgandy colour.

I can't walk any kind of distance in wellies - they have no support at all. ON do a wide range of properly waterproof trainers but they have quite a distinctive look which you will likely either love or hate!

I just recently bought waterproof Sketchers. Around £50. Really comfortable and waterproof. I tested them out in torrential downpours yesterday!

I could walk around the world in them!

They are a bit pricey but my current pair (black with red stitching & elastic) have seen me through 8 winters so far (plus many summer festivals) and are still like new as far as wear & tear goes.

I like the shape of the Blundstones but hate the stupid loop things at the front and back! The back fair enough but the one at the front is really off putting for some reason.
They do look brilliantly weather proof though and like they’d be very practical for walking a good way.

On Cloud Geo are fully waterproof. Wore them today, dry feet!

Adidas do fully waterproof trainers and they are excellent. I walk up to 5 miles in a day in them, feet stay dry and comfortable.

I second Blundstone boots – comfortable, waterproof, stylish and they last for years. I’ve had mine for 7 years and they’re still going.
