September reset

I love September, itโ€™s like a NY feeling for me and I am going to take the opportunity to turn over a health and beauty new leaf ๐Ÿ˜Š
less booze (much) more water
some kind of exercise every day (even if itโ€™s just a walk)
being outside every day
eating whole food not UPFs
something each day for beauty routine (I started this already actually - did the foot peel socks two days ago, dyed my hair yesterday and currently have a sheet mask on that promises to rejuvenate and brighten my skin!)

little things, nothing extreme just a quiet focus on being kind to myself and hopefully creating a lifestyle that will leave me with more energy and able to look and feel my best.

any recommendations for vitamins/supplements that actually make a difference welcomed, I feel like I should take something but instagram is overwhelming me with miracle potions and I donโ€™t believe them!

Ooh, I love TK Maxx beauty product roulette! Might be good, might be shit, you never know! The only rule is, if itโ€™s good youโ€™ll never ever find it again ๐Ÿ˜‚

FauxFox · 03/09/2026 08:19

So true @Castlerigg ๐Ÿคฃ

i have managed to secure a long overdue appointment to get my eyebrows shaped this morning then I am going out for lunch with my friend, considering denim maxi skirt, short sleeve faun jumper and faux shirt collarโ€ฆ so hard to know what to wear in this in between weatherโ€ฆ

have a lovely day all!

I book in at the John Lewis beauty bar in September. Like a personal shopper but for makeup.

FauxFox · 04/09/2026 08:55

I fear the beauty counter people @Epoisses i have dread that I will come away looking like a drag queen and be awkward-ed into spending a fortune ๐Ÿคฃ

OK day yesterday, eyebrows are huge improvement - my friend asked if I had had Botox ๐Ÿ˜ did drink wine but food was healthy. am doing well on drinking loads of water but it does mean you have to go to the loo all the time!

I feel like you OP! I went to the hairdresser yesterday and am paying more attention to looking after my feet and legs as I get dry skin after the summer. (There's a great thread on here about leg health - must look it up!). I also went for a run yesterday. I wasn't dressed for running but just felt like it so started running. ๐Ÿ˜

I am having a look at some recipes to try and do a meal plan for the week - I donโ€™t eat meat (do eat fish) and I really want to learn some dishes with lentils/chickpeas etc in them, am a big fan of Ottolenghi and they have some interesting ones I am going to try out.

have already got soaked in the rain once today which has made me feel that I would like a long hot bath this evening, I hardly ever have a bath and do have a lovely bath oil from Christmas so looking forward to using that ๐Ÿ˜Š

TKMaxx is also my favourite shop, Iโ€™ve had some brilliant beauty buys and I love a good browse.

Iโ€™m off work currently so canโ€™t afford to spend but Iโ€™ve got enough clothes and make-up/toiletries to see me through, just need to resist the urge with all the lovely new things in the shops and get creative with what Iโ€™ve got.

Castlerigg · 04/09/2026 14:40

I didnโ€™t have any alcohol yesterday, and had a low carb dinner (fridge dregs really), and Iโ€™ve been to the gym this morning. I also cleaned and put in some earrings that have been sitting in a bowl waiting for at least a month.

I am going to look at some A/W clothes , I'm not sure what is in but I really fancy something purple. More blue purple than red purple but I need to see what's out there. I also love paisley print .
I need another reset on weight loss , I did really well in June then went off the wagon so need to step up again. I can do it and as it is less than 110 days till Christmas, then when I get to the 100 I'll start my new regime .
At the moment , topical things like hair masks, face serums and masks are making me look more cared for .

I have to book a hair appointment too

FauxFox · 06/09/2026 14:38

Love a plummy purple/burgundy in autumn @70isaLimitNotaTarget hopevyou find something nice. I would like to lose half a stone to be at a happier weight, I am hoping that being a bit mindful and roughly calorie counting on an app will do it as I am no good at being strict, love food too much!

I'm pretty good about manicures and pedicures, but when I don't have time, I really like the Manicurist active polishes.

My diet is generally good, but we were away for 6 weeks this summer, lots and lots of restaurant and more cocktails than usual, so I'm trying to do a real bump back down to earth, and I'm really liking this nutritionist. I've just ordered her book.
