I have a kimono top. Its lovely, but wildly overpriced for polyester.

I’ve bought some of their kimono tops over the years. Mine are not polyester as pp mentioned, but modal/cupro.
Not cheap, but have lasted well, still look nice and are useful. Also easily resold for a good price on Vinted.
However, in some places their clothes have become a middle/older aged uniform. And when I was in the US I saw loads of this brand in museum and national trust type gift shops. (Mentioning this as it might bother some people, I am late 50s and past caring if anyone thinks I look older!)

FannybygaslightinGovan · 31/08/2026 19:04

Thanks both. The skirt I'm looking at is Cupro/viscose so might just go for it ❤️

I have and I like them but there are some on vinted that are still quite high in price but still cheaper than from the brand itself.

daffydreams · 31/08/2026 19:14

they have very good sales, That's ehen I buy.

I have a robe which I like (I wear it like a house coat, not outdoors). I’m not sure if it’s polyester but it’s washed well. I haven’t found any other styles of theirs I’ve liked though.

I have a couple of the kimono tops and love them, and get loads of compliments on them. I am middle aged though 😄 I also find them quite cool and floaty on a hot day.

Notname · 31/08/2026 19:29

I think I got a 20% discount for my first purchase which made them £40 each.

MyManinCaracas · 31/08/2026 19:33

I’m middle aged and have a couple of their short kimonos; I think they work with jeans and t-shirts when I want to look a bit more put together.

I was disappointed to receive a super creased kimono in a plastic wrapper. It felt like a very cheap item with a premium price tag. I returned and haven’t reordered.

exexpat · 31/08/2026 19:50

I have a few things of theirs (dress, shirt, jacket, cushions, scarf) and would say the quality is decent (though I usually go for natural fibres) and probably similarly priced to stuff of similar quality. You can find some items on ebay or vinted for less than new, but still not cheap.

I have to agree that it is a bit of an arty middle aged/older woman uniform, as sold in museum shops and boutiques in places like Hay-on-Wye, but that doesn't bother me as I am that demographic.

I I had the Primula dress in the sale because I love the flower print. I get lots of compliments but only washed it a few times as wrong season.
Sizing is appalling. One M/L I had to eBay as massive but it sold quickly. Only buy in the sale though as they were going for £35 -£65 as opposed to having a 1 in front.

I had a short light kimono style too from there that I used a sun cover up. It ripped in the hand wash cycle after a few months (I’ve put more delicate stuff than that on that cycle and never had an issue!).
