Alternatives to hoodies

My go to outfit is jeans, trainers (definitely sporty ones, not trendy white ones) a t shirt, often with slogans or music bands on, and a hoody, either full zip or no zip. It’s more of a sporty/grunge/aging hippy style as I am not a polished hair and make up person at all.

I would like to wear something other than hoodies though! I do have jumpers and cardigans but I don’t think they go with trainers or band t shirts. I have wondered about an oversize shirt. I do want something that is warm in the winter.

Can anyone suggest any alternatives?

ETA: I’m late 50s but with the attitude of a grungy teenager

My style is really similar to yours. I'm in my sixties.
As an alternative to hoodies I wear tartan shirts and when the weather gets colder the padded version.

I also have a couple of old battered denim jackets in various colours and a camoflage jacket I bought at army surplus in the 90s.

This is the only time I've ever had anything to offer on Style and Beauty 😂

Cardigans do go fine with band tshirts imo. Esp a grungy cardigan

Im a hoody girl but I also like oversized sweatshirts. I like cardigans. My friend has knitted me a few in the style of the Kiwi and Co cardigans that look great with a vest top or tee for a relaxed look.

@DeHumanaeMentisApatheia I’m not after a coat, and they all look very tailored and not my style at all, but thanks anyway.

You sound a lot like me!

I have a few tartan flannel shirts that I wear as an alternative to hoodies.

My tribe!
I am thinking of tartan shirts, or even corduroy. I had a gorgeous Levis jacket in my 20s but gave it away to a charity shop 😢I think I’d feel too Jeremy Clarkson in double denim with a denim jacket these days.

Same here...and on the rare occasion I 'dress up' I feel very fake! I have a couple of crew neck woollen jumpers, an overshirt to wear with a plain vest or t-shirt, and plain bomber jackets.

@MagpiePi I've always bought most of my clothes in charity shops. I might well have your old jacket 😀

I get round the Diddly Squat look by wearing coloured denim jackets (most of which I customise with patches and badges). I wear looser fit jeans too and that kind of stops the Status Quo skinny stonewash vibe.
