Jeans with a soft waistband - do they exist?

I have had some issues with my stomach for the last few years and find anything with a proper waistband incredibly uncomfortable after about an hour. It makes me feel horrendous and often lasts hours after I take the trousers off. I live in high waisted leggings, light jersey trousers or dresses with tights.

I lived in jeans until this all started and I’m desperate to get back into them but after an hour I’m so so uncomfortable that it ruins my day 😔
I recently bought DS (5yo) some chino type trousers for a smart occasion and thought they were fab as they had the waistband of a pair of joggers rather than make of the chino material!!

If I could get proper jeans but with a very soft waistband it would be a dream!

Unfortunately, I’m not fitting in an age 5-6y anytime soon 😅🤣 So I’m on the hunt!

Has anyone seen anything that fits the description? Every time I search for ideas it just brings up loads of links to Halara. I believe they are more of a light and thin material rather than proper denim though unfortunately!

Halara jeans. Buy from Tik Tok shop as they are from UK warehouses and so the jeans arrive much faster, and are simple to return with immediate refunds. Different story when you use the website

I think that Halará make jeans in slightly different weights as I have some black ones I bought last winter which are a bit thicker and more like normal denim fabric than the bleach blue ones I’ve had for the summer. I also recall seeing they did some last year labelled as heavy weight for winter, but I haven’t tried those.

Next do their denim legging fabric in different styles now. I have some bootcut but I think they do flares and barrel leg. All with comfy pull on waist band with belt loops.

Have a look at maternity wear.

I have a pair of M&S Autograph jeans made from stretch denim material and it’s really comfortable and the waistband is soft and stretchy.

For a budget choice Sainsbury’s TU have Jean jeggings - I bought them last winter and they are so comfortable I never want to wear zip jeans again! I think the current ones have a flare leg.

Another vote for Halara, I’m a huge fan.

Thank you all, I’ll have a look ☺️ I have various pairs of pull on legging types and they are better than proper jeans but still cause me a lot of discomfort after a while. They need to be very very soft.

Muthahood Goods soft denim, elasticated waists, very comfy. Pricey but worth it! Not maternity wear, despite the name.

Also take a look at the Starfish Knit range of jeans at Land's End.

I have trouble with waistbands too but sew my own alterations.

M&S cosy jeggings are a lot softer and comfier than normal jeggings.

Rag&Bone Miramar makes the best jogger style jeans. They are incredibly pricey but worth the money if you really wear them often and want total comfort. Some styles (Sofie I think) have proper buttons and pockets whereas others have the details printed on. Their cuts look exactly like real jeans, unlike jeggings which are narrow legged.

Snap! Since hitting 50 and in peri my stomach has got gigantic and I don't even eat much! I feel pregnant but am definitely not! I used to live in jeans but now can't wear them. The loose fit ones I have to wear a belt with which of course cuts in to my tummy and the tighter ones are impossible. So i wear joggers or leggings. I sometimes wear my old Next maternity jeans as they are so comfy with a nice soft waistband.

Halara jeans are really comfortable. Look for the high-waisted flex types.

Halara are brilliant, the comfiest trousers, leggings and jeans I’ve ever owned.

Brax jeans from Amazon are my solution to this issue. Lightweight denim and a comfy elastic waistband.
Note they are straight legged or skinny.

I have also worm starfish denim from lands end but the quality dropped a couple of years ago.

I have the exact same issue. I hate anything thick and restrictive round my middle too. I have these in blue and black and they're really comfortable.

Halara was my first thought too.
They sell jeans that are soft and stretchy and at least one style has a fake fly plus (real) pockets but the waistband looks like a ribbed fabric.
Also agree with TT shop. It has been said before on MN about problems with returns but mine from TT were returned and money in bank within 48 hours and my delivery has been speedy
