Recommendations for a supportive bra to wear with slash neck jumpers

Looking for recommendations please. Am in my 50’s, 5’ 4” and size 14. In the process of very slowly losing some weight, hourglass figure albeit an out of shape one right now.

Have got a couple of slash neck-type sweaters that I’d really like to wear, but a good strapless bra seems to be out of my comfort zone. I’ve tried a couple in the past, but I either feel like there’s no support there or that I look like there’s a shelf on my chest!

I just don’t have a clue what to look for, any recommendations would be great.

I wear normal bras with a vest top over the top but I appreciate that’s not quite the question you asked!

Just a consideration @50PlusComfort, when you say "I look like there’s a shelf on my chest!" are you wearing the correct cup/back size?.

The middle section of material (between the cups) on the bra, should sit directly flat on your breastbone.

I would ensure you get properly measured first does make a real difference

To be fair, this is what I’ve been considering. I’m more into comfort these days than anything else.

@Freya1542 , @Beachlover1993 - I think I probably should get measured! Though I may well succumb to the vest top option. I’ve never felt comfortable in strapless the few times I’ve tried over the decades. So thought I’d see if anyone offered a miracle. But I think proper measuring is going to have to be done, especially now I’ve lost a little bit of weight.
