Best dress styles to wear with Dr Martens?

I usually wear my Docs with a short skirt and tights but would like to wear them with dresses too this autumn/winter - any suggestions as to the best style? If it's relevant, I'm mid 50s and short.

I love a pinafore over a stripy t-shirt with DM boots and thick tights. I’m not usually a White Stuff shopper but they often have nice ones.

Any dress! Any dress except a knee-length fitted style, that is. You could - and some women would style it out perfectly - but nobody needs to wear a dress like that while there are so many options.

Best bets, imo, are full skirts of any length, short or ankle-length for straight skirts.

I agree with @GarlicAnything, I wear them exclusively in autumn and winter, some spring, with midi dresses and skirts.

Nearly any dresss on Distubia would be great with Docs!
