Nice handbag preferably cross body

I have no idea about style! I saw a Lovely one from Michael Kors but was told by my very stylish younger sister it’s very outdated so I’m put off.

My budget is £500. I’ve never splashed this much on a bag but have been gifted this for a milestone birthday. Could someone please help me pick a nice bag please? I would like a named designer one but also will consider a nice non branded one. I’m in my early 40’s.

@BlackRowan Outket fashion?! I go to Bicester Village where there is Dior, Gucci and Loewe. Yes, obviously tacky brands! If you know what’s classic it’s ok shopping in outlets. You are somewhat wide of the mark!

There is literally nothing snobby in this comment. I’m a regular middle aged woman myself.

OMG maybe you need
one, not everything sold in an outlet is outlet fashion
two, conversely, if something is Dior or Chanel it does not automatically mean it is stylish or fashionable, all luxury brands have plenty of duds
It means heavily logoed, mass-market bags commonly seen in outlets - not that every discounted bag is unfashionable.

Can anyone recommend decent handbag organiser/inserts? Need something I can whip from one bag to another so I can always have my wallet/keys/pass on me.

@BlackRowan So a Gucci bamboo handle is covered in logos? What is outlet fashion? Why on earth do you think all bags at outlets are logo bags? Mulberry are there too. Are they covered in logos? I think you know absolutely nothing!

can I just ask about Ralph Lauren bags? My niece showed me a picture of a small backbone with tine RL logo and it’s cross body for £295 or something like that hey have been £395. What do we all think of this? I’ll try finding a picture online

You're right, Coach might become the new 'Michael Kors' if people jump on the bandwagon. Was everywhere in the 2000's, but fell out of fashion. Same with Burberry, that got copied SO much 😆. Have you seen the moon bag by Staud? That's quite a unique bag 🙏

i really rate Strathberry at the price point, I have some lovely cross body bags from them that wear really well.

The new woven leather one which is coming out next month looks beautiful. I'm tempted.

I also thought the new Strathberry Intrecciato style looked really lovely. I am looking forward to seeing them in person.
Strathberry is a nice brand if you want a mid-priced bag. I have several, and they have stood up really well. The purse I use daily, which gets a real bashing, is Strathberry and it still looks as good as the day I bought it.
