Ideas for a classic jewellery piece for our anniversary

Looking for some suggestions/inspiration on what jewellery 'piece' to get next!

Our anniversary is coming up so DH has asked what I'd like - in the last few years he's always got me jewellery and is happy for me to choose myself.

So far he's bought me:

  • White gold diamond and emerald engagement ring
  • White gold and diamond wishbone wedding ring, he bought me another the same for our first anniversary so I wear one on each side of my engagement ring
  • Emerald and diamond drop earrings
  • White and rose gold watch
  • white gold teardrop emerald ring (I wear on right hand)
  • white and yellow gold hoop earrings
  • yellow gold diamond cross necklace
  • as well as a few other "cheaper" bits, a lovely pair of silver earrings with green stones on holiday, a yellow gold double ring, some nice silver stud earrings.

I like mixing golds, like dainty more 'classic' styles and am looking for ideas rather than set pieces or brands - we like going to jewellery and antique shops together to pick something out.

Two things I've thought of are maybe a plainer wedding ring to wear all the time (but not sure how this will fit with existing rings?) Or a bangle/bracelet? I don't think his budget will stretch to a tennis bracelet at the moment, but maybe a bangle would be nice?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Half hoop eternity ring.
If you go for it, don’t buy the full hoop as the stones hurt as they press against skin either side of the ring.
I made this mistake so hardly wear my full hoop.

My half hoop platinum & diamond is much kinder.

Just to put another idea on the table, have you thought about a watch? I mention it because it sounds as though he's bought you most other jewellery types over the years and it might be something different.

Tortephant · 14/08/2026 22:28

Tennis bracket, but let him save and do a few years in one.

Amayonaising · 14/08/2026 22:41

Thank you all, so many replies so quickly!

@PashaMinaMio thank you, that's good to know! I've often thought having diamonds on the inside of a ring does look uncomfortable so that's good to have confirmed!

@PartialEclipseOfTheHeart he actually bought me a lovely white and rose gold watch two years ago that I love and wear every day, I also have a yellow gold cocktail watch that my granny left me. I've bought him a gorgeous brietling diving watch this year that I hope he'll like!

And yes I think a bracelet is probably the next obvious choice, him saving up for one is probably the best bet but not his style at all to skip a year!

You have lots of nice things! I think you should get a tiara 👑

@Amayonaising I love bracelets and have quite a few. Mostly silver bangles which I alternate but I also have a beautiful Tiffany gold and diamond bangle that was a present for my 50th. It’s classic and understated, not too blingy and the diamonds really sparkle. Bracelets are nice that you can see them easily unlike earrings or a necklace.

If you haven’t got already, maybe classic diamond stud earrings or a diamond pendant?

Amayonaising · 15/08/2026 19:55

I would love a tiara! Alas I feel I wouldn't get the wear out of it 😅

Thanks @bendmeoverbackwards your gold and diamond bangle sounds similar to one my MIL has that I've coveted for years! Do you just wear one bangle at time? I'm afraid I'll find it very jangly and annoying but maybe if I just wear one on my non watch arm that won't be an issue?

Yes I just wear one at a time. I have a beautiful Ebel watch that dh bought me about 16 years ago, I wear it every day and still love it. I wear it on my left wrist then a bracelet or bangle on my right wrist. In fact my wrist feels a bit naked without one!

Ruthietuthie · Yesterday 00:35

I would go for a tennis bracelet. Or a diamond station necklace. Lucky you - your gifts thus far sound lovely.

PartialEclipseOfTheHeart · Yesterday 09:07

From readying your posts, I sense your heart is really with the tennis bracelet.

You've mentioned you like vintage pieces - so do I! I think you should have a trip with your husband somewhere where there are some antique jewellery places and see what you can find; you might find something in his budget, particularly if you want to avoid huge and jangly, delicate and pretty tends to be more budget-friendly because with gold prices so high, the gold weight rather than the diamond weight seems to count more in pricing.

There is of course also the chance that you'll see something completely different and fall in love with it at first sight!

Molinia · Yesterday 10:28

Rather than a tiara(!), could you look for a hair ornament with more versatility - or a brooch to convert, if you have longer hair? (Lots of vintage options there)

ElizabethVonArnim · Yesterday 10:31

I know you say you might not get the wear out of it, but I’ll just leave this here…

Do you need more jewellery? You can't wear it all at once!
You could put the money towards a lovely holiday. Or if keepsakes are important, get something nice for the house that you can both appreciate.

caringcarer · Yesterday 10:37

You seem to lik emeralds. You could get diamond and emerald drop earrings.

No one needs any jewellery, but it's about what brings you joy. If your jewellery gives you a little spark of pleasure when you put it on before a dull or difficult day; if you catch sight of the bracelet your beloved husband bought you when you're feeling stressed and undervalued at work and it reminds you you are loved, then it has a very valid place in your life.

Amayonaising · Yesterday 16:58

No of course I don't need jewellery, you're right of course and I do know how lucky I am.

But I love jewellery and my husband loves me, it makes us both happy as trite as that may seem! He's rubbish at buying gifts, struggles and stresses massively over what to get and the absolute joy in his face when someone compliments a ring or watch or whatever and I say 'thank you, DH got it for me' is honestly priceless.

Usually I buy him tickets to concerts or nights away, so I do appreciate an 'experience' gift but he gets stressed about whether it's the right thing when choosing for me. And while I know that some people like lots of things in their homes that is not me at all - as materialistic as I probably sound from this thread, I really don't like stuff! Our house is gloriously bare and minimalist 😅

I don't think you need any more rings.
How much do these pieces cost?
I don't understand the multiple wedding rinhs.

Amayonaising · Yesterday 17:09

Should maybe reconsider @ElizabethVonArnim.. where does one wear a tiara!?

Will definitely look into different bracelet options and DH liked the sound of an eternity ring too. A day away to antique shops sounds fab @PartialEclipseOfTheHeart, we did a lot of that when getting my engagement ring and the subsequent emerald earrings. (Emerald is my DDs birthstone @caringcarer, DHs is diamond - I'm a bit of a sap clearly 🤣)

Another vote dor the half band eternity ring, I got one for an anniversary and love it.

Also love a diamond pendant on a gold chain, I have a lovely flower one.

But it's my gold bangle that gets the most wear! I also want a tennis bracelet.
