Autumn knitwear ideas: classic or oversized styles this season?

Is anyone else completely done with this summer heat? I’m honestly so ready to pack away the shorts and dive straight into cozy layers.

I’m on the hunt for some new everyday knitwear to refresh my wardrobe, but I’m feeling a bit stuck on what’s actually worth buying right now. Are we still doing oversized chunky knits, or is the vibe shifting back to more fitted, classic silhouettes?

I usually avoid super bright shades, but I’d love to experiment with some gorgeous, rich autumn colors think deep chocolate brown, burgundy, and forest green.

What staple pieces are you all excited to wear this season? Drop your favorite knitwear recommendations or brands below, I need some inspiration!

I have bought a few jumpers recently. Im quite skinny so oversized jumpers just swamp me. My favourite new buy is this one from Cove in navy. They do it in black also.

I also bought two from Brand Alley at vastly reduced prices. And a lovely purple one from Monsoon.

I like the jumper itself but I don’t like the styling in the picture, with the layered Breton stripe.

I'm still sticking to my slightly oversized knitwear. Not completely swamping me but I like the Uniqlo 3D knit v neck jumpers and size up one size for that slightly slouchy look with straight leg jeans.

That said my favourite jumper is quite a classic fitted crew neck from Hush that I snapped up in a charity shop last year for a fiver!

Breton looks awful on me so I just wear the jumper on its own. That particular shop sells a lot of breton stuff.
I do love a puff sleeve as it makes my skinny arms look much more balanced with the whole outfit rather than just scrawny. I lost a lot of weight during an illness I had.
