Good boutiques for wedding outfit

Can anyone recommend good boutiques between Birmingham and Manchester for mother of bride outfits? I’m not wanting to spend £600 plus so I think the specialised MOB shops will be out of my price range. I also think a lot of their stuff seems to be aimed at gran of the bride from what I’ve seen. Will be checking out John Lewis etc but any ideas welcome 🤗

Any actual brands I should look at? I’ve looked at Hobbs, Reiss, Karen Millen. I need something MOB suitable, but not stuffy/old fashioned looking.

Phase 8?

Also try the East Midlands outlet centre or Cheshire Oaks?

Stop looking for Mother Of The Bride outfits! The MOB 'uniform' is, as you say, about 50 years out of date.

If Karen Millen, Hobbs, etc are in line with your preferences, go back to them and look at the whole range of occasion wear. Find something that suits you.

Mine was from Hobbs, I can wear it other places too, useful when a dress costs £££. Think about what you like to wear style wise then perhaps by a more upmarket brand

I agree with Garlic Anywhere. I wouldn't look for Mother of the Bride outfits. Start from I want a new dress I like which I'd wear again

You haven't given much indication of what you like - do you usually shop at Hobbs, Reiss, etc or are you just looking there because you think you should?

So these are just what I'd go for to stay under £600 and wear again. These are all online but you'll get a far better choice online.

I like the Batsheva rosemary dress. I love too many dresses on the Lovebirds site to pick just one. Lots of great options.

OP, is £600 your budget for a dress, or for everything (dress/hat/shoes/jacket/jewellery etc)? Or is it less than that?

No idea what your size is, or your colouring, or your style or colour or pattern preferences - but you could have a look on The Outnet or MyTheresa, not just John Lewis?

EleanorMc67 · Today 01:52

Joseph has a few dresses, some in the sale, that might work if they're in your size.

The problem when thinking of what I like to wear normally, is that I’m definitely not a dressy person. That makes it so much harder 😂

£600 seems to be the minimum cost of a dress from the MOB outlets, which is way too much. I’d prefer to spend around £200-300 on a dress (although I’d actually prefer jumpsuit but they don’t feel dressy enough)
I’m short (5’3) and 14 top/12 bottom….a bit chubby around the middle 😬 wouldn’t want anything too clingy/fitted.

Cheshire oaks might be a good shout, hadn’t thought of that (I think I assumed it was all sports shops etc)
