Best products for a natural-looking light tan on face and chest

I have recently returned from holiday, and like most people look soooo much better when I am lightly tanned.

Even if it’s just my face, neck and upper chest area, what can I use to look lightly tanned all year round, without going orange and unnatural?

Thank you, I like the idea of a spray. How often do you use it - 2/3 times per week? And I assume it doesn’t turn you orange?

Bondi sands gradual tanning lotion leaves the most natural colour I've tried so far. My fake tanned legs are exactly the same colour as my naturally tanned arms. Very very gradual however! Needs several applications to be at all tanned.

It has a guide colour bronzer which looks terrifying at first but rubs in to make a lovely colour (although is darker than one application of the gradual tanner will be when the bronzer is washed off). I wasn't looking for one with a guide colour but it does really help make sure you've applied it evenly.

Cheap as chips and gives a lovely non orange glow when you need a boost.

I also like the bondi sands gradual tan (although I use the blue one without a guide colour) for everyday top up, but agree it's not instant!

In the summer I use Clarins self tan for my face (comes either as a lotion or a gel) and the blue Bondi Sands gradual tan for arms & legs and anywhere else that shows with t-shirts / vest tops.

I second the Garnier spray. It’s often on offer at the supermarket so good value. I’m pretty pale so I always used a light one, but I’ve found dark is fine in summer. I use a big kabuki brush to blend it in, which works well.

What do the Garnier and Bondi Sands tanners smell like?

The only tan spray I’ve used that doesn’t smell like biscuits is the Siena x one.

St.Tropez Self Tan Purity Face Mist, it’s about £12 on Amazon. I use it every few days for a nice glow, although go lightly as I’ve found too much is quite obvious. Good reviews though!

The lotion one smells of cocoa butter to me. I quite like it!

How do you mist without getting it in your hair?

I generally like the drops that you add to moisturiser but Autograph no longer do theirs, which were excellent. The St Moriz tanning drops are pretty good though.

I also like the Dove Summer Body lotion. Years ago when I was much more committed to the fake tan life (hello fellow Elder Millennials!) I swore by Garnier and Rimmel bronzing gels.

Ive started using B Perfect facial tanning mist, id spray it on & within a few hours theres a lovely glow 🌞
