Waxed on Monday and growing through already .

Anyone else disappointed with their waxing treatments . As title , I had my legs and arms waxed on Monday and already I’ve got hairs growing ( not helped by the beautician missing bits that I’ve shaved off ) . I know these hairs could have been under the surface and are now coming through but I get my waxing done every 6 weeks and would like to think it’s more even growth by now . I might aswell just remove the hair myself than pay £70 and am starting to think it’s a waste of money . I’m booked in next month before my holiday but it’ll be autumn when I’m back so might just sort myself over the winter .

Well that’s the thing , I had my top lip lasered and it’s grown back so I’m having electrolysis now . I know electrolysis works as I had my bikini line done years ago and havd been completely hair free for decades . Legs and arms are too big an area for electrolysis though .

Well, hair grows... It has to be a certain length before you can wax it again and the hairs will be in different stages of growth so you'll always have more uneven growth between sessions.

Sounds like your waxer was a bit shit though, definitely book with another person next time if I were you

Your hair must be in differing growth cycles still if it's coming through a few days after waxing. You need it to be in the same growth cycle to be hair free for a while after waxing. I would try waxing every 4 weeks with absolutely no shaving between appointments.

Are you sure she hasn’t just snapped off the hair when waxing rather than pulling it out.

If you have regrowth so quickly, either this is hair on a different cycle or your waxing lady did a shit job and snapped the hair at the surface rather than pulling it from the root.

You can buy your own ipl machine and do laser on your hair, it is better than waxing in my opinion. The braun ones are good

lt sounds very much like this is the case to me. We are all different when it comes to hair, but it sounds very early for regrowth to come through. I have a full Hollywood once a month (different body area l know) and certainly don’t see regrowth so soon.

l suggest you cancel the next appointment and go for a different salon next time. Preferably one that someone you know has recommended. Also tell the beautician about your previous disappointment.

I had a crap bikini wax recently. The owner of the salon isn’t very nice and always mentions she hasn’t seen me lately. The same day I realised not the same was taken off either side so it wasn’t “smooth”. Not going back again and £15 down the drain. It was just a simple bikini wax.

I've had the same - regular schedule, tried different salons etc. Have given up on professional waxing. I'm waxing myself -a combination of nads sugaring pot and those waxing strips. Not perfect but at least as good as at a salon but a fraction of the price.

This is why I use an epilator: no broken hairs, no grow outs, easy to keep up with as and when. I did like hot wax (idk if they still call it that, it’s the kind where there’s just wax, no strips) for completely removing the hair at the root without breakage.

Oh this is interesting! I never thought about growth cycles for leg hair. I know the hair on your head is in roughly 3 cycles.

When I wax my legs it doesn't grow back for months and months. Sorry that's not a weird brag I just mean I wonder if it's because it's all on one growth cycle.

Have you been waxed elsewhere before to compare? I have a Hollywood wax and I can get about 10 days before the hair starts growing back (in patches). I’ve never had my legs waxed before, so can’t comment. Six days doesn’t seem a lot, though. I’d want longer out of it than that!

Yeah sounds like she snapped the hair off rather than waxing it. Did she use strip wax or hot wax?
I started waxing myself during Covid and never went back to a salon. Got a Mylee hot waxing kit for bikini /thigh area, and use the Veet strips for shins/tash.
It’s as good as a salon job, and I don’t have to make appointments, I can leave it over winter and do it whenever I need in summer.
