fleecy zip up jackets, usually grey, that have big arctic foxes on them?
I'm sure you can only buy them on market stalls.

I've seen a few variations recently - horses, tigers etc

They are truly awful

I have a fleecy zip up jacket with dog slobber on

use it for dog walking and training

maybe I should train him to slobber a picture on it

They do ones with sheep all over them too

LynetteScavo · 26/06/2008 19:59

They are soooo awful it's untrue.

They are sold on the same stalls as those short sleved shirts with fire on, which are awful too.

I only know this because our market in right in the centre of town, adn you can't miss noticing - I haven't been buying anything off these stalls, obviously!

I've seen two or three round here with [whispers it] teddy bears on. Really. On grown-ups.

2point4kids · 26/06/2008 20:00

I did a car boot sale once and amused myself for hours by playing arctic fox bingo

They're hilarious. Utterly hideious. I can understand the attraction of most things whether I would wear them or not but these...

2Happy · 26/06/2008 20:03

My mum once bought one of these for me for my Christmas (the memory of it being so painful, I have forgotten the precise design).

It was the last time she ever bought me any item of clothing ever for any birthday or Christmas.

chonky · 26/06/2008 20:04

Oh god - does anyone remember the first series of The Apprentice when they were trying to flog these jackets on a shopping channel. Television gold .

Spidermama · 26/06/2008 20:04

Take it back and demand a refund.

minniedot · 26/06/2008 20:52

lol I saw a couple at the airport the other week wearing matching ' wolf ' fleeces! Terrible.

morgymoo182 · 26/06/2008 20:55

My friends call them "Ming Wongs" I've no idea why.
When we're in a public place together we play a game and see how many we can spot .

ManhattanMama · 26/06/2008 20:58

Oh god - the things you can buy at market stalls...

My Mum bought a hideous sweatshirt from Dorchester Market that says "I'm The Boss" on it in big multicoloured letters.

She claims she only wears it for walking the dog (my dog is 15 years old and can hardly walk, let alone jump up on her), but she actually wears it all day.

The first time DH saw her in it I thought he was going to burst a blood vessel trying not to laugh - when he left he said he knows where I get it from

Spidermama · 26/06/2008 21:03

PMSL. Dorchester market has the odd gem.

maidamess · 26/06/2008 21:05

Ideal world Shopping channel has a whole range of them .. And they always sell out.

There's horses cantaering through the surf, bears prowlning through, dolphins arching through the waves. A Panda may appear on one of them.

They are only worn by people in comfy shoes walking their dogs after dusk.

HaventSleptForAYear · 27/06/2008 20:18

chonky I was going to quote that episode of the Apprentice !

It was great because that annoying girl (can't remember her name) actually CHOSE to sell that product, everyone thought she would lose because of it and she actually sold loads!

isaidno · 27/06/2008 20:25

You can get throws with the same designs on - presumably so you can camoflage yourself in your living room.

lizandlulu · 27/06/2008 21:11

everytime i see one, me and my mate nudge nudge wink wink at each other and say 'i am going to get you one of those'

childish , yes. but so not good.

on anyone!!

Boco tried to give me a blouse with an eagle and some polar bears on
it was a narrow escape

Boco · 27/06/2008 21:38

Franny

That beautiful top with the arctic scene and the huskies and the eagle and the polar bears was NOT in the same league as a fleece with an animal on, not at all.

Ingrate.

Anyway, MrsC took that blouse and I bet she loves it. And I bet deep down you know you missed out. And you think about it and feel

FrannyandZooey · 27/06/2008 21:40

ooh shit I knew I'd get caught saying that
yes of course as soon as MrsC said she would have it, it became very desirable indeed
bother

Aitch · 27/06/2008 21:41

my illustrator friend wears a lot of garms with images on them. they look kinda bold and wonderful, tbh. but she does have a brilliant figure, though.
