Help! The front bit of my hair won't grow

Interested to hear if anyone has dealt with similar. I have very curly hair, prone to dryness and frizz. For YEARS I used straighteners on the front part of my hair because otherwise it would just curl up madly (also see: the 90s). I'm sure this caused a lot of damage and now, it just won't grow. I have tonnes of split ends in this area.

I'm currently growing my hair out again and would really love to sort this once and for all so that it's all the same length. What products/techniques have others used?

NB this isn't about increasing the density of hair in this area, which a lot of products seem to be aimed at when I search - just encouraging it to be healthier and grow longer!

Hmm
Friends I know with damaged hair swear by a weekly olaplex treatment.
Otherwise, is there anything at all you do that pulls on the front of your hair.
Tying/clipping your hair up, pulling with a brush, the towel when you have wet hair, etc? I would say be extremely careful with your hair, like it's a delicate fabric!
I didn't realise once I was causing damage to my long hair with bag straps so it's easy to miss something.

Coconut oil is really good for dry damaged hair and it’s cheap too

Minoxidil.

Buy the generic stuff not regaine. 20 quid will get you a years supply. Every morning, apply with a cotton bud to the area of roots of the hair that doesn't grow.

If you have pets like cats or dogs though it is poisonous to them so you shouldn't use it if you do.

I have amazing eyebrows now, no middled aged thinning for me and I've started applying to the widows peak bit and that is growing really nicely now.

I want to say mine is called Kirkland (?) it definitely begins with a K but I'm not at home at the moment, sorry!

But if you just look for generic minoxidil I'm sure you'll get some options from online pharmacies. Go for 5%, don't bother with anything lower.

Thank you for the replies! I do have cats so sounds like I can't use minoxidil, ah well

I do have bond treatments so will try to use more often

"delicate fabric" is a good way to think about it, I definitely haven't been! I tend to twiddle my hair too when thinking which I'm guessing doesn't help!

Is there hair at the root and its the ends that aren't growing any longer ? If so then you need a bond repair (k18 is grat but ££)
