Body oils for crepey looking skin, are they any good?

I have very crepey skin on my arms ( not unusual for someone my age) but I see a lot of adverts on social media and wondered if anyone had succumbed and whether they make a difference.
Asking before I waste any more money on things that don’t work 🙈

There was a recent long running thread about body lotions and whether they do indeed firm things up.

The top layer of your skin gets crepy. Putting lotions on it simply smooths the surface and feels nice.
To rejuvenate tired skin you have to feed it at the basal layer.
This only happens with oil.
While baby oil is OK you can do better.
Just mix up some olive, avocado, jojoba and apricot kernel oils. Sort of even amounts. It works for me.

Aveeno has a nice body oil, is smoothing and very moisturising.

A really good oil definitely helps with deep moisturizing of both skin and nails.

I used Medix5.5 boldly cream. It really helps

This is untrue. Oils do not feed skin at the basal layer. Oils create an occlusive barrier, much like vaseline, sitting on top of the skin to lock in existing moisture and stop water from evaporating

I use this. It’s lovely.

I just use aveeno spray. Plus comes up well on Yuka

I don’t know about oils, but I have been buying strong retinol from European pharmacies and mixing it with a plain emollient and using a couple of times a week and that helps. You need to keep protected from the sun though.
