Pixie haircut for over 50s?

I am feeling the need for a change and am considering a micro pixie cut.

I'm 52, 5'3" about a size 18, rarely wear makeup. I also look my age- puffy eyes, wrinkles etc. I'm not vain so objectively I would say I was quite plain,not ugly just very ordinary looking,oval face nice eye colour no stand out features.

Do these cuts only look good on models? I had really short har about 25 years ago- I liked it but my now DH didn't really. I'll post a couple of pictures of the style I like that i found on pinterest. . Have been asking AI and quite like the mock up it did but think I need a real life opinion. I could post the AI image as well but don't really want to out myself!

I’m 65, very grey, have a short pixie cut which is both convenient and flattering. I use a barber rather than a women’s hairdresser - they do a better job with very short hair, in my experience, and cost less.

I’d be wary, having had a pixie cut in my 30s but shoulder length or longer for the last 25 years or so and no plans to change.

Mine is wavy so might be a bit different but the drawbacks of the pixie cut were that I had to wash and style it every day with a dryer, which as I am the sort of person who goes camping or other basic travelling quite a bit meant shit hair while I was away. Shoulder length I can just wash and let dry naturally no styling required. If the short hair got wet it ruined the style, same problem with outdoorsy lifestyle and not a problem with shoulder length. Cold in winter (I don’t like scarves). Needed cutting every 5 weeks on the dot. With shoulder length it’s any time between 10 and 14 weeks. The cut is far quicker, in and out of the hairdresser in half an hour with shoulder length hair and no annoying tiny bits of hair down the back of my neck, I always had to go home and change with short hair, never do now. The final thing was that I really did have to up my game with make-up, which really isn’t me, I just like a tiny bit of brows done and mascara.

I hardly wear make up- would be OK to make sure brows were done etc but wouldn't want to have to do a full face every day. What I would like is a cut that I could wash, towel dry and maybe a bit of wax /gel to define

I don't think pixie cuts are flattering on most middle aged women, to me they look like like a practical haircut rather than a nice haircut, which is fine if that's what you want.

I don't wear any makeup and think my hair looks good. I can wash it every day, towel dry it and either leave it as it is or put wax on it to make it more interesting.

I actually think most women, particularly older ones, look better with short hair. Just about every celebrity that has had short hair I thought looked much better with short hair than longer

I don't agree. I think a well cut short style looks much neater and nicer than longer hair.

I have wavy hair and a pixie cut. I do nothing, literally nothing, to it other than wash and condition it. At the absolute most I run my fingers through it. I have had short hair for years, but even when it was only chin length it required faffing around with and it never looked as I wanted it to. Having it shorter is the most freeing thing in the world. I also get it cut every 8 weeks - and I wear no make up at all. It takes less than half an hour to have it washed and cut and I never have annoying bits of hair down the back of my neck.
