Has anyone tried Lookiero or similar?

I have some money set aside exclusively for new clothes. I am sick of my t shirts developing holes after 2 washes, my short fat body and my lack of style.

I've thought about a personal shopper but the ones in the local dept stores are all young, hip and trendy. I'm retired and in my 60's so I'm not sure they'd be for me.

I'm debating trying a curated box, does anyone have any experience of using one.

Any style advice would be gratefully received.

Yes, I was very disappointed actually. Filled out the questionnaire including my colouring, style and what colours suited me. Completely disregarded- I think everything they sent me was navy, white or kakhi! The only thing I liked was a pair of straight leg jeans which fit really nicely, so gave good feedback on these. The next month they sent the exact same jeans in a slightly different blue!

Yes I tried it. Dreadful. Everything was 15 years out of date. Basically dressed me as a fat Kate Middleton.

They are ok but I found their stuff a bit mixed I think you will be better off with a personal shopper at John Lewis they are really good. The lady I saw was excellent and gave me some really good options.

Agree on John Lewis, you can choose the stylist that you think will work for you, and they really listen to what you want/ look at body shape/ colours etc. I’ve done it twice and it was excellent!

Definitely avoid them. Their customer service is non existent and they have no phone number. They are currently trying to charge me for a box of clothes that I never received. I filled in all the forms to say I never had it and now they are not responding to any email or contact form I send to them. Awful company.

I’m in my 30s and found their stuff was crap. Plenty of pieces looked nice in the app, but when they turned up they were poor quality, very thin or terribly static. The static was shocking. The clothes were mainly polyester but I have plenty of polyester in my wardrobe that doesn’t give half as much static. One jumper was fine when I tried it on but after I washed it, I couldn’t even handle it without it making static noise, nevermind open it to put my head in!

The “stylist” also ignored any notes I gave. I said I did not want neutral colours, any “basics” or any trousers. And that I nearly always wear dresses would be open to the occasional brightly coloured, patterned tops or jumpers. The 10 “curated” items to pick from always included plain trousers and at least one basic vest or t shirt, nearly all the tops/jumpers it recommended were beige and maybe 2 boxes ever had a dress in and they were beige or sage green.

Polyester. Like expensive crap from tk max. Labels you’ve never heard of. Waste of time.

I’m in my fifties, pale, with blonde hair and grey eyes. They sent me everyday, brand-less clothes in shades of dark brown, moss green and black. It looked like someone had done a trolly dash around Matalan in winter. Not for me.
