How long do you wait before topping up Boutique teeth whitening?

I decided to get my teeth whitened, so bought the Boutique 6% peroxide system through my dentist. I used it exactly as instructed and I am a little disappointed with the results. I was really embarrassed about my teeth before and they are a lot better but I would have liked them whiter.

If you have used a similar system how long did you wait before topping up? And if you do regular refreshers how often and how many days do you do it for?

The dentist said that tea and coffee doesn't make much difference to your teeth, unless you drink excessive amounts, but I wonder if anyone else has cut down and found that helped to keep your teeth looking whiter?

Any tips would be welcome, my dentist was helpful but I would love to hear from other people who have been through the process.

Just carry on. There’s no time limit. Have you been doing it for 2 weeks? Up to 1 month is fine. With the 6% are you using for 1.5 hrs?

Ah that's helpful the dentist said it wouldn't do my teeth any harm but also said that 2 weeks would be enough. I am doing 1.5 hours, maybe I just need to keep going.

I find the carbamide peroxide overnight version has a better effect as it breaks down over 5 hours so longer exposure time, have you got the option to switch to that?

Be aware that everyone’s tooth colour is different. Whitening won’t necessarily keep lightening your teeth until they’re whiter than white. Your teeth will reach a limit for you depending on your natural tooth colour.

Thanks, I think I will keep going with this for a bit longer and see how I get on. I am just unlucky because despite always looking after my teeth they got really discoloured as I got older. I know age is a factor here too.
