Academic fashionable clothing

Hi!
I've recently done a complete style change, I was fed up still wearing the same clothes I did when I was in my early 20s, I'm in my mid 30s and just want to look nice. I have coloured my hair back to something natural, given myself a makeup overhaul (I feel beautiful!) But I still need some wardrobe ideas.

I love what I call librarian styles, academic looks, brown, green and burgundy are my bag! I adore argyle and plaid. It occurred to me whilst looking online I haven't bought nor worn blouses since school! I had absolutely no idea what to look for or where.

Do you have any recommendations for shops? I am tall and plus size, I like long skirts that flare out at the ends, sort of retro style, long sleeves.

Thank you 🧡

Have a search on here for the "Dark Academia" thread, sounds just what you are after.

Ha ha. Beaten to the punch. I was rushing to say that there is a Dark academia thread. Maybe your style is not so Dark but I think you’ll get the gist. It’s been a long time since I read that thread and Im not sure summer and heat waves are very synonymous with librarian chic. They’re all waiting for Autumn to arrive.

I have been a librarian and I have never seen anyone wear the clothes that are described here.!

I love the dark academia vibe!

I was going to ask you if you knew any academics, as they are the least fashionable people ever. You need the Dark Academia thread, and then I'd get on Vinted and pick up some tweed/plaid skirts for cheap before everyone remembers about them in the Autumn.
