Waistcoat wrinkled after first wash

I bought a waistcoat from H and M . It's made of polyester and says it can be washed and to iron while damp. Despite this it is still wrinkled. First time I've done it. Do you think it's fair to take it back and ask for a refund?

Do you think it’s a garment flaw that it wrinkles in a washing machine?

I hand washed it as per the label. Did not spin it. Dried it on the line.

My bad it's actually 85% viscose and 15% polyamide. Lining is polyester.

Anyone else with any experience of a similar issue?

If you laundered it as per the label, I’d definitely take it back.

Yes, I would take it back. I’ve had to take a few things back in the past which have shrunk excessively when following the care instructions.

I've contacted the company by chat and they've said take it back for inspection.

Viscose is a nightmare. I bet there is an interlining or lining which has shrunk at a different rate to the viscose, or doesn't shrink while the viscose surely has, and that has caused the wrinkles. One layer of the garment is now bigger than the other, basically.

I've only owned one bit of viscose, it was a mix with cotton. When dry, the fabric felt really nice, but when wet after a wash it felt awful, and although I iron all my things anyway, this viscose cotton mix item really needed it in order to get the soft feel back. That said, I don't think it a fault if the item to be made of this fabric, so long as it's clearly stated.
