Can you help me find the dress from my description

should have just asked the lady.

but can anyone help me find the dress I saw a lady wearing in London finance district today.

I’ve tried every search going.

It was a black sleeveless collared shirt dress. Ballerina length. Think tie belt, but defo a belt and silver buttons length of dress.

the unusual part which I’m trying to search for was it had an overlay fabric ( still all black) like a wide square mesh that was all over it separate to the under fabric. Looks like square broderie or cut work but just plain old squares with holes in the middle. So like a thick net but holes were maybe 1/2 cm edge. It looked like a Hobbs/ Karen Millen feel.

I’ve tried to search for the top fabric as think that will be key to finding it but no luck.

looked newish so hoping this season.

any suggestions gratefully received!

This is driving me nuts. I have seen that exact dress but I can't find the words for a search engine to locate it, even though your description is really precise. The skirt is full and the top layer is like stitched together cut outlines of squares? It could be Zara at its most innovative or really high fashion from Dover Street Market.

Very similar but all absolutely symmetric squares only, with buttons. The mesh/gauze/net was totally uniform.

not finding anything in search for monsoon.

felt a bit edgier than monsoon.

if it transpires it was over £1k I wouldn’t be surprised!

she also had really toned arms and the whole look was just fabulous.

Sounds like it’s from the brand Self Portrait - they do that cut out style a lot.

So is it schiffli? I sold a couple of those this week on eBay. Not black tho. Pink and orange

definitely black, and the mesh length matched the underskirt, so no offset to see through the mesh beyond a small gap at the bottom, or when the dress moved.

You take a picture of the dress (not the person) next time you can put that into Google images
