Sandals for fallen arches and plantar fasciitis

I’ve come across Remonte sandals online. They have removable insoles, so I might be able to put my orthotics in them. Has anybody tried this? What are they like? Does it matter if your orthotics isn’t exactly the same outline as their insole? And does it look dreadful if their insole is, say, dark briwn to match the sandal straps, but your is ghastlygreen? And does the sandal actually support your foot not to spill over the arch support?

Hi OP. I wouldnt recommend Remonte for this as there is not enough space or depth to accommodate orthotics. Unfortunately, I've spent good money on their shoes and sandals in the desperate hope that they'd work and it didn't. 😞

I don’t want flappy toe thongs or slides. I want a strappy sandal with an ankle strap. I loved the Birkenstock Taormina, and I could walk all day in it, but (a) my PF is so sore that the Birkenstock footbed is too hard right now, and (b) Taormina has not been available for at least two years, anyway 😢

Fit flops and sketchers were recommended by my chiropodist and he was right. Since wearing them I have not suffered with my feet.

I swear by Vionic which my podiatrist recommended. I also have fitflops but vionics are my go to but they are expensive. But imo worth it. Simplyfeet sometimes have them cheaper.

Sketchers increased my pain.

Allegria shoes.. the Vienna sandal were the only brand I could walk in when my PF was as bad as yours seems to be op. They are harder to get a hold in but not impossible. The arched footbed means the pressure on your feet is different and for me that really worked.

Now I can wear a wider range and my.PF rarely flare up (unless I wear shoes without support)

I have Teva Tirra Sport sandals, maybe a bit more utilitarian than you're looking for but the arch support makes my feet happy and the footbed is ace.

I also have Merrell walking shoes (like trainers) which are superbly comfortable so I'd give their sandals a try.

I have high arches and orthotics. The only sandal that works for me are skechers arch fit. Not perfect but better than any others.

Sandals are not suitable for plantar fasciitis. Your foot needs all round support.

Sketchers are horrendous, I honestly wouldn’t mess with your feet if you’d have or got PF and stick to wearing trainers.

Calla is a brand worth looking at. Lots of room in the toe area too

crocs, normal & sliders ,brilliant recommended to me from OT.
Also i used Archies, again lasted well & brilliant.

Crocs and ecco walking sandals both support my arches. I have custom made orthotics for my hiking boots.

My podiatrist told me to avoid Crocs and Skechers at all costs. I do have a pair of crocs and I have to be very careful not to wear them for more than the odd half hour or the PF twinges start again. I normally wear Birkenstocks but I would also suggest trying Merrell.

Crocs also painful. Not enough support and I have to clench my foot to walk in them.

ATM all I can wear are Decathlon’s cheapest, lightest trainers with my orthotics in them, and Arizona EVA Birkies. Just too hot and sweaty!

Vionics have built in orthotics I wouldn’t be able to get through a summer without their sandals. But I don’t have plantar fasciitis but do have fallen arches.
