Hello DD is very self conscious about this mole with hair it's a dark brown mole which is fine but can she do anything about the hair ? It's on her cheek and obvious .

Can’t she just pluck them?

chirrupybird · Today 12:40

Pull them out? If there's no medical reason not to.

Thank you ! Yes she does pluck them or cut them but is looking for a longer term option .

Laser hair removal isn't recommended for hair that's growing out of dark moles, as the laser can damage the mole as well as the hair and cause problems.

I think she'd need to get the entire mole removed. Or just keep plucking the hairs.

I have a couple of these, I just pluck them - annoying but as far as I am aware no other options at present

I have the same. I have been plucking the hairs with no problem. I'm now over 60.

As PPs have said you don't really want to be messing with a mole if you don't have to. How arduous is it just pluck the hairs once in a while?

I had one on my face it cost £580 to get it removed privately and took a few minutes and no pain. Is that something she could do?

I also had a mole on my face which sounds similar to your daughter's, OP and I also had it removed. I used to just pluck the hairs out. As I aged, it got bigger and bigger, although it was benign. I found that it was pulling focus on some people when they were speaking to me, and they ended up speaking to the mole.

I had electrolysis on mine 30 years ago (not sure if that’s considered safe nowadays) it definitely slowed down the growth at the time but it ramped up over the years so wasn’t a permanent solution anyway.

I just pluck mine out, a set of Tweezerman tweezers by my bed, in my bag, in the car etc. It’s definitely a pain having to remember.

I guess I could have had the mole removed but actually really like it.

I had a mole with hairs growing out of it. Over time, plucking irritated and inflamed the mole and it became bigger and paler. Best thing to do is have it removed.
