Easy hair up ideas for shorter fine hair

Help me - I have no idea with how to put my hair up for a wedding I’m going to next week. I usually have my hair down but with the heat I know I’ll want it up and don’t want to end up shoving it in a pony tail half way through the night. My hair is shoulder length with a few layers and not thick at all. Even my pony tails look pathetic. What is something really easy I can do that looks ok and will keep my hair off my neck?

Could you curl it and then pin it all up messily? Curling it will help give the illusion of volume. Or a chignon? Or even a high pony with the ends curled?

Thank you for replying. I don’t know how I’d curl it unless I bought tools… Hair not long enough for a high pony. No idea how to do a chignon but will look it up. I think we all know I’ll end up with it down, get hot and sweaty on the dance floor and end up shoving it in a pony tail eventually! Thank you though.

Can you go and get it put up.at the hair dressers ? Alternatively if you are not confident put it in a low ponytail twist it and put it up with a claw clip.

Mine is the same. My hairdresser taught me how to put it up, but it definitely has to be curled first. It doesn’t matter how you curl it, with heat or heat less, but you must use a strong setting product. I use a firm hold mousse. The curling takes most of the time, I find it a pain! But the actual putting up is so easy and quick. I use extra long kirby grips in the colour of my hair. Because it’s really well curled, precision isn’t needed. There are probably lots of tutorials on line.
