Is it normal for lipstick to melt in warm weather?

I haven't worn lipstick in years and decided to buy a tube, recently.

The other day, I decided to pop some on but it was extremely soft and had obviously melted from the heat.

Is this normal or is it just cheap lipstick? Is there a way to prevent it from happening?

Keep it (and other Cosmetics) in the fridge.

@Tortephant @TheRosesAreInBloom thank you! Is it still okay to wear if it maintained it's shape or is it rubbish now? I don't know if the colour or how it goes on is impacted when the wax melts in a strange way or if the colour is fine since it's cooled off since then.

Oh yeah, it will be fine 👍🏻

I reserve a shelf in the fridge door for beauty products and cosmetics during the summer. And I’m seriously thinking of getting a mini fridge for my dressing area when I move house.

Your lipstick will be fine to use. But store it in the fridge.
