I am looking at this dress for my wedding dress in Gibraltar next year. I am 5' 3" and 56 yo. How can I elevate it to more weddingy. I'd like maybe to wear a hat (no fascinator nor netting over the face as this will annoy me.

A woman in the Novara - Ivory vintage floral lace dress with curved short sleeves and front buttons, accessorized with layered gold necklaces, a pearl choker, hoop earrings, and gold bangles, stands against a neutral background.

Novara - Ivory

Novara is inspired by a vintage dress that our Co-founder and Creative Director, Orlagh, discovered at Portobello. The curved sleeves create such a pretty shape that compliments the nipped-in waist and floral lace.

I think this is a gorgeous dress. This, the hair accessories suggested by @KitchenColourandstyle and a bouquet and you will look fantastic. I honestly don't think it needs anything more.

Completely agree - your dress is beautiful, let it shine ! Less is more I think.

Congratulations on your phenomenal weight loss , and wishing you all the very best for your wedding .

Lovely dress. I think in the photo the bag, loose casual hair and holiday type accessories dress it down. Remove the bag, switching to simple elegant jewellery and shoes and you will look perfect.

Yes I think the dress by itself is easily bridal, it’s the bag/shoes/chunky gold cuff that make it less so in the pictures. So yes, lovely shoes without black pattern, maybe a pearl necklace? Simpler less costumey jewellery and you’re done :) congratulations!

I had fresh white flowers in my hair, maybe that's an option?

Lovely dress.

Hi, do you know where you are getting married? I can help with comments in terms of accessibility and how much you’ll need to walk (as this would affect my shoe choice).

The dress is gorgeous! Definitely no hat.

I was so focussed on headwear to elevate this dress that I had forgotten about shoes. I feel much happier people saying this dress is lovely on its own, thank you all. Once I have the bouquet and a beaming smile, I cannot be mistaken for a guest surely.

It is gorgeous! Fabulous choice.

Can never have too many flowers.

I say a bridal crown to match the flowers would be gorgeous. Boskey, like Midsommar, but less horror 😁. Imagine, at the top table your bouquet is out of sight, but everyone who looks at you sees you wearing a crown of flowers? Beautiful!

While I think the bag is lovely, it looks very white in comparison to your dress. The elements of the dress are softer and more flowy, I think too. You’d have to see them together in real life.

What do you think of this?

Lovely bag however I would not want to wear as a crossbody bag so will need a handle.

I've recently lost just over 6 stone so still getting used to what I can now wear. My style has obv changed as I have more options (prev. it was just 'what will cover me most') so my confidence in clothes and what goes with them is low. I am getting married in Gibraltar next May. I was worried the dress was not enough but some of you lovely people think it might be.

I'm not a fan of headbands and I have shortish (menopausal thinning) hair so assumed a hat would be the best as I cannot do much with it but not good at styling at the moment.

Beautiful dress! Personally, I want to see the bride's face at a wedding and share the joy, so would avoid a hat (lovely as many of the suggestions are)

I wouldn't rule out what a good hairdresser could do to help make hair look thicker and fuller and enhance what you have if it is somwthing that might bother you - there are so many options like extensions or toppers that could help give you more confidence if you feel you need it.

Things in this area have come a long way in the last decade or so, and it can be done in a subtle way.

Lovely dress.

My friend had a fresh rose and a sprinkling of pearl hair pins, she looked amazing.
