I find any kind of ankle strap seems to draw the eye to my cankles .

sagacious · 25/06/2008 14:47

hmmm
Nice

But not with cankles

soz

DrNortherner · 25/06/2008 14:47

I think they will draw attention to cankles cause of where the stap is located.

Plus they are ££££ for what they are.

Get thee to New Look for much cheaper alternative.

What are cankles? [dim emoticon]

Gobbledigook · 25/06/2008 14:49

I don't see the fascination with espadrilles. Bleurgh.

PuppyMonkey · 25/06/2008 14:49

Please can someone tell me what a cankle is?

louii · 25/06/2008 14:49

Hmmm I thought so. Back to the drawing board

Mindalina - fat ankles (so called because there's little difference between your ankles and calves)

OP posts:
sagacious · 25/06/2008 14:51

I don't agree with the 1st defination though

TigerFeet · 25/06/2008 14:52

A cankle is what I have unfortunately - the calf turns into the foot without stopping to create a lovely graceful ankle on the way

No to any shoes with straps - bitter experience tells me this. Such a shame - those shoes are lovely and look comfy too.

Monkeytrousers · 25/06/2008 14:52

oh, they have a name. Do you who have cankles also have the same problem with wrists?

DrNortherner · 25/06/2008 14:53

Yes YP I may not be an authority on much but shoes I can do!

TigerFeet · 25/06/2008 14:53

You don't have to be fat to have cankles - I am fat now but I was a skinny child and shapely teenager and had the cankles even then [sigh]

PuppyMonkey · 25/06/2008 14:54

Ok - I get it. In that case, those first shoes would deffo draw attention to the issue imho. Very nice though!

TigerFeet · 25/06/2008 14:55

I do MT - I have thick ankles, thick wrists and chunky fingers regardless of my weight. I struggle to get costume jewellery type bangles and rings to fit properly.

squeaver · 25/06/2008 14:55

Sagacious

I may have cankles but I'm a 8/10

Don't seem to have the wrist problem but they're not "graceful" shall we say.

OP posts:
mindalina · 25/06/2008 14:56

Aha I see, thank you. Well the shoes are very pretty imo, and the strap is lower than most ankle straps so I don't know if that would make a difference? I think you would have to try them on to be sure tbh.

Yes UrbanDictionary is a bit... dodgy isn't it? I have seen slim women with these "cankles" and larger women with v slim ankles so agree first definition is bollocks.

PinkPussyCat · 25/06/2008 15:02

I am tall/slim but have cankles

Those shoes would make me look like a shetland pony.

Monkeytrousers · 25/06/2008 15:03

I have these cankles I think and I'm not overweight - just ahve thick joints. I avoid jewelry anyway

DoubleBluff · 25/06/2008 15:09

NAother cankle here, dream of wearing knee high boots, can never get them on, even the Evans ones are snug.

Monkeytrousers · 25/06/2008 15:55

I don't have a problem with boots. Cancles must come in degrees

PinkPussyCat · 25/06/2008 16:07

Yes I am ok with boots too...

I must have low-grade canklement
