Summer Trousers for short people

I am what can only be described as short and fat. The current trend for wide legged trousers makes me look like a womble.
So can anyone recommend somewhere that sells slim leg summer trousers (preferably linen) for people like me?

I am a size 16 and 5ft 3
I buy my trousers from Hush, Sainsburys and Halara
I only recently discovered Halara, I had loads of ads on my FB feed but though they were probably rubbish. I orderd 2 pairs of trousers and I am really pleased with them BUT I did probably need the standard not the short even though I have short legs. DD21 also ordered a few things from them and thinks they are great

I'm shamelessly adding myself to this thread as have the same problem. Tried to go shopping for.some trousers the other week and came home with a pair from Matalain in the end. They where the only ones that weren't to long and didn't leave me looking like a very fat short person.

So looking for some more ideas.

Abercrombie & Fitch does petite linen trousers. There are various fits but some slimmer ones

I find that men’s long shorts make perfect length cropped trousers for me!

Next and M&S both do barrel leg linen trousers which are really flattering.

M&S have started doing a lot of their trousers in extra short. Have you looked there? Lots of styles.

Last time I bought capri pants (TU) they were ankle grazers on me. I bought palazzo pants from there and they are also ankle length(but very voluminous) the problem i have is they are usually ridiculously long in the body, I could pull them over my boobs and have them as strapless jumpsuits.

Not sure if they have any now but last summer I bought a couple of pairs of v comfy tapered ones from matalan. Elasticated waist, and they were only about £15.

Oh, and I’m short so I just rolled them up a couple of times

Ahem (whispers) Bon Marche… They do a variety of leg lengths. Obvs you have to choose wisely, but the fact that dd has stolen my Bon Marche linen trousers is testament to the fact that they can’t be that bad!

I second these. I have 4 pairs in different colours!

I smile when I see some of the comments about Bon marche. I find the staff helpful, they do clothes in different leg lengths and their tops are always in lovely colours .I like the shop and I am unlikely to meet any MN when I pop in as I have seen critical comments. When I am in other places Edinburgh woollen mill have proved worth a visit. Staff knowledgeable and helpful.

ETA - wide leg also looks awful on me :(

I bought a pair from Next that I think look ok but I'm not a fan of summer trousers for the same reason- I'm 5ft and overweight! Have you tried Next petite range?

Boden is great for petite options.

Same!!! Why the hell would anyone in their right mind want barrelled legs? I look like one already.
I also hate elastic waistband or drawstring, so unflattering!
I gave up looking.

Just got some trousers from Next, short length (not petite) and they are perfect length for wearing with flat summer shoes. I am 5’4”
