Wedding - what to wear on head with this dress

Hi I am attending a wedding as a guest and wearing this style of dress in a bright green.

This is not the exact dress, it has more of an open neckline and is fit and flare.
It will be a very dressy wedding.
I am happy with the dress, have either black or pink shoes/bag.
No clue what to wear on head. I think I need something.
i love hats but don’t want to pay a lot.
I have short blonde bob - will not be getting hair done.
please send me all ideas, I want to look edgy/stylish rather than mummy/traditional.

I don’t think you should spoil the look with a cheap hat. Boaters are great, but you need to choose wisely or they are floppy!

The attached are ready made from Hostie hats. I think coordinating with the green is stylish but as the picture isn’t here, I’m unclear as to what the green is. Ideas anyway!

The Accessorise one is pretty bad. It’s going to look very cheap at a dressy wedding. It’s what people buy when they cannot be bothered to buy a hat. Wear a headband - much better than a mini saucer!

It’s a kind of bright emerald/apple green, a yellow toned green.
Love the boater but need to think if I want to put that money on it.

but to be honest if it’s all in a hotel I’d probably go with a headband as it’ll be more practical inside and you won’t have to worry about where to put your hat once it’s off your head!

Why not spend the money on getting a wash/blow dry done and a pretty clip/head band rather than a cheap fascinator or hat?

It’s not spending that’s the thing, I’ve not got time with my caring commitments - I couldn’t get out that morning to go to hairdresser.
Not sure what to do, maybe a green hairband but I’m not sure

I think trying to match the hat/fascinator to the green dress may be difficult. Perhaps go with neutral or contrasting pink sounds fun.

@Serenitespring I have you three headband ideas! These are stylish for 2026 and the little button hats are a bit old hat now (pardon the phrase). You need more substance to make them work and don’t spoil the dress by under cooking the hat/headband. It’s a total look and cheap headgear is always going to look cheap. The smart Irish know how to dress!
