i had my hair done today. Left is before, right is now . My hair is brown 😭 how do I fix it. My hairdresser wants to do a clarifying shampoo and bleach bath but not until Thursday. I was meant to get colour matched to my new extensions today but didn’t want them this colour

And yet another vote for the brown.

OtterLovesItsRock · 04/07/2026 23:11

I would call the picture on the right honey blonde or warm blonde. It is much prettier and less run of the mill than the ashy pale look.

Camomile tea or cassia or lemon rinses can brighten hair, but the pic on the right is elegant and attractive and would tone so well with a range of colours of clothing.

Also, sorry that so many people are ignoring your actual question because they’re too busy telling you how your hair should look.
This is a talk forum not a year six SATS paper. People are encouraged to talk. You don’t have to answer the question for one mark.

When the OP clearly wants the colour in the first pic, telling her the other colour is much better or nicer is just a subtle way of putting her down.

Well…, some posters didn’t even bother being subtle, they just went straight for the throat.

They've either used the wrong toner or your hair is very dry and porous and has soaked the toner in. Just buy a clarifying shampoo yourself today, leave it on a few minutes before conditioning. After a few shampoos the toner will fade a lot and you might not need it correcting.

Honeyhonayboo · 05/07/2026 09:09

It’s not brown and it looks better. It’s a golden toner and will look much lighter in sunlight.
The overly bleached hair looks bland and dated.

Nitgel · 05/07/2026 09:15

A clarifying shampoo will lift the toner out quicker

Jamesblonde2 · 05/07/2026 09:17

I prefer the new colour. But more classy.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 05/07/2026 09:25

I don't know what colour it was supposed to be but I prefer the picture on the right.

MegMortimer · 05/07/2026 09:28

I'm another who immediately thought the right side looked much better.

Shockednotshocked · 05/07/2026 09:34

Wash it with anti dandruff shampoo that contains salicylic acid. Leave the shampoo on to allow the salicylic acid to penetrate the hair.

Or use bicarbonate soda to lift the hair cuticles and release the colour pigment.

Hair needs a good since with apple cider vinegar or decent "shine" conditioner to close the cuticles once you're finished.

Completely agree. The OP doesn't want dark blonde hair. People saying they prefer the darker hair is irrelevant. She didn't ask for opinions on which is nicer, she wants advice about how to get the toner out. Some of the comments have been horrible, just no need

Apileofballyhoo · 05/07/2026 09:35

Sorry OP, another vote for the right. But it will lighten and I agree the hairdresser shouldn't have given you a colour you didn't want.

Taggiesbeefdaube · 05/07/2026 09:48

Another agreeing that it looks nicer on the right. It definitely isn't brown, it's just a warmer blonde than you're used to. After a couple of weeks it will have faded down.

user1492757084 · 05/07/2026 10:01

I very much prefer the right hand picture. It looks like natural blonde rather than grandma grey/violet.

mumumental · 05/07/2026 10:08

Prefer the right hand side too.

Nitgel · 05/07/2026 10:15

Volumising shampoo helps too as it apparently fluffy up the cuticles to get the toner particles out. It worked when my hair was dyed brown over my blonde highlights a little. I used the Avalon Rosemary shampoo.

Another vote for the bronde!
I would leave it, it will lighten on it's own

This. But it’s your hair.

LoafofSellotape · 05/07/2026 13:10

I prefer the right hand picture,it's lovely.

HoldMyWine · 05/07/2026 13:12

I much prefer the 2nd photo

Aw. You don't like the more 'sophisticated' colour that looks in better condition and suits your skin tone?

Colour stripping it is then. Good luck... 'love'. 🙄
