Any suggestions for the best dupes please? Ideally the same length or slightly shorter. Loose and cooling.

M&S have been out of my size for aaaaages 😭

Fabulous with long wafty cotton nighties!

Thank you, I wore a pair last night and slept well. I don’t wear nighties so it looked odd with my normal vest top, but never mind. Comfort over beauty.

I just wear thin cotton cycle shorts 3 sizes too big so they are knee length and very loose fitting.
Trouble is the sizing though.
I’m an 18 and have them in various sizes from 22 - 28 🙄

Most disappointing were some from cotton traders,
I went for size 26 yet they are smaller than size 22 from new look and the cotton is vile and scratchy with a nasty thin waistband.

Legs don't touch. For me that's much cooler!

Agree. These are the only thing I buy from M&S and I actually wear them regularly.

Look on Vinted or Depop

CherryogDog · 04/07/2026 08:15

Do they not ride up when you walk?

Nope! (Unlike all the cycling short type ones I've tried)

@Sliperzzzzz The black ones are back in stock online for some sizes if that's any use, OP. They sound good, but the website doesn't give the length, which is really annoying. Model looks tall, and they're knee length on her!

HighburyHope · 04/07/2026 17:26

They are a good couple of inches shorter than they used to be, which is good because they were too long! @LadyAddle I don't think they have reshot the model photos, so they must be of the previous longer version.

LadyAddle · 04/07/2026 17:47

Thanks @HighburyHope - that’s helpful to know. One reviewer mentioned having to chop six inches off the ones she bought!

I can quite believe it, based on the ones I have.

I wonder why M&S is making trousers/culottes longer. My neighbour said just the same about some trousers she's bought yesterday: she normally takes 'regular' but had to buy 'short' trousers and they still looked a bit too long.

You'd think the extra fabric made them more expensive to make.

My new ones hit on the knee and I am 5’4”

@Sliperzzzzz they're back in stock online in all sizes as of today

Sliperzzzzz · 12/07/2026 13:32

Omg thank you @Theringcycle I already bought some in black last week but I've just bought 3 pairs of the opal ones (along with a few "cool comfort" bras to see what they're like).

In case anyone is interested: the new style is slightly shorter (knee length rather than over the knee). Also the waist band is smooth now which I much prefer.

They ought to pay you commission, @Sliperzzzzz - I've just bought some too. Lovely and slithery!

LadyAddle · 20/07/2026 20:05

@Sliperzzzzz I am really grateful to you for this thread - I wore my new ones today, and they are fantastically comfortable under a summer dress. I would never have known about them if you hadn't posted!
